GMAP Pedometer between Kidani and Jambo

I thought some might like to see this. I've mapped out the walk between the two Porte Cocheres of Kidani Village and Jambo House. Just zoom out some to see it in all its glory.

From lobby to lobby yes. But if you were staying in a Kidani villa which was between the two lobbies, then you could go down one of the Kidani elevators and cut off some of the distance.

Or you could stay in the "lower half" of the Kidani horseshoe and cut the trip in half!

Very nice wildernessDad! Disney wasn't far off when they said the walk was about a half mile. Now we can tell people that in fact it's really only .4348 of a mile!

Hmmm, it appears some of the rooms at Kidani are closer to the Jambo lobby than rooms at Jambo. Wow, those places are big.

Holy Cow! That is not the walk that I had in my head when people were talking about this "walk" We are staying at Kindani (our home resort) for the first time in May. It's doesn't look very scenic and not very direct. Should I really be concerned though. Other than our dinner at Boma, is there really any reason why we need to go over there? I don't think we'll be using the counter service much. Could you say it's comparable to maybe the walk from the Poly to the TTC? I think we stayed at the Tahita building, at that was a haul to the TTC. But I must say, at least it was a beautiful walk!

I've got 3dc, 8,6,3....should I be requesting something at Kidani??

I'm staying at AKV for the first time next month!! Yea!!! I know there are no "jogging" trails, but maybe this route could be used as a substitute?

Thanks for posting this. I'm having a blast plotting the distances of all sorts of Disney things.

I checked out the distance from the room I had at Kidani to the Kidani Village lobby entrance. We were way back in the North wing - mapped out at right about 1/4 mile. So, the day that one of the kids forgot something while waiting on a bus, I had a good half-mile trek back to the room and then back to the bus stop.

All the way around World Showcase without stopping to look around looks to be about 1.03 miles.

It's not very scenic (some parts of the route are better than others) and it's not direct because the resort is built around the savanna. There is no easy way to provide a walkway through/over the savanna so you have to walk around it.

The main reasons to go to Jambo House would be for the restaurants: Boma, Jiko and The Mara which is the only counter service restaurant in the resort. If you expect to go to Jambo House a lot, request a room in the south wing of Kidani which will shorten your walk to Jambo House and put you close to the bus stop. The pool is in front of the north wing a little ways from the lobby so a room in the south wing means a longer walk to the pool.

You can also get on any park bus to go from Kidani to Jambo House since they stop at Kidani first, then Jambo. (This is also one of the reasons to stay at Kidani.) To bus back to Kidani from Jambo House, get on the Downtown Disney bus.

There is also a shuttle van that goes between Kidani and Jambo about every 10 minutes.....no worries
