So I use a gmail address for a class I teach. Starting yesterday, I started getting replies from clients saying that they were receiving the same email several times and would I please cut it out.
Turns out, gmail has some glitch and is randomly resending emails again and again. In their help section, the official response to numerous complaints about this is that they will maybe know something tomorrow and "cheers!"
This is awful. There is apparently nothing I can do on my end to stop this. I've sent an email from another address to the group that is getting spammed, apologizing and explaining that it is a gmail issue. I guess the next step is to close out my gmail account and start over, but that will mean materials to reprint and the potential of losing some contacts. I guess either way I'm up a creek. So sorry I ever opened a gmail account.
Any ideas for a work around, anyone?
