Hi all!

We are headed out to Cali soon for our first DL visit. We've done WDW on a GF diet (me and oldest daughter) countless times, and each one has been a wonderful experience. However, this is the first GF trip for our youngest, she was just diagnosed 2 weeks ago. The hard part - she's a chicken finger fiend. That child would eat chicken fingers til she sprouted feathers. I have already obtained a list of GF options in DL from the special diets department, but I do not see a single chicken finger anywhere on the list. Anyone have any experience out in DL? Is there any hope? I know it's not the healthiest option to begin with, but she's little, and it's vacation. It's a time we've let her indulge in her beloved chicken fingers, and being that she's so new to the diagnosis, I'm trying to help her ease in by hopefully finding some great options for her.

Thanks!

We just got back a week ago from Disneyland and it's super easy to eat GF there! The first day we ate at California Adventure at Paradise Garden Grill. I just walked up to the cashier and asked what they had GF and he pulled out a binder and gave me a ton of options. For dinner that night we walked out of the park to PF Chang's. The second day I stopped at City Hall in Disneyland and asked for a printout of their GF. They didn't have any printed and then I had to wait while they tried to print some out. It had a list of most of the food places and the GF that they offered but the one place I wanted, Bengal BBQ, wasn't on it. I asked the cashier what they had and she told me I could have any of the skewers but without sauce. I was able to get the bacon wrapped asparagus, which is what I was really wanting. My point here is, don't bother with the printout-every food place seems to have GF options so just pick a place and ask! Also, we ate at Zankou Chicken offsite (it's on Ball a few blocks from Disney but not within walking distance.) Everything on their menu is GF except the pita and the tabbouleh. I've eaten there twice and didn't get sick either time. We also went to Ruby's Diner-I had seen a review online about their GF offerings but I have to say I was disappointed when we went there for breakfast. They do not have a GF menu so you have to rely on the waitress and she didn't seem all that helpful. There is also Sensitive Sweets less than 10 miles from Disney. We got the apple crumble, lemon bar and a couple of cupcakes. They were all yum! Hope this helps. :)
