Has anyone ever ordered from We Go Shop or Garden Grocer and gotten gluten free and dairy free products. DSIL and DNiece are coming with us in April and have these allergies. We would like to cook in our villa for most meals but did not see any items on the Garden Grocer site. We won't have a car and will be using DME.
Thanks for any help.

I haven't used any grocery delivery, but I tried to see if Garden Grocer or any other service could get Odwalla Vanilla Almondo Non-Dairy shakes. I am gluten and dairy free and even though the shakes have oat milk in them, I don't react to them and rely on them often for protein. We are staying club level at WL and they said they couldn't get them for me (I said I would pay for them to be delivered to the room) either.

I'm thinking of just packing other protein powders in my carry on and then make the shakes with rice or soy milk.

Looking at Garden grocer, they didn't have a ton of products that come up when you do a search for gluten free, but if you know particular brands that are, I'm sure they would come up.

It's a great idea to cook and make GF friendly foods in your hotel room, especially if you are staying in a villa. Good luck, hopefully someone else will have some experience with this.:thumbsup2

Although I have not ordered from the Green Grocer before, I have stayed in a villa with my gluten free family. The first time we went we stayed in a one bedroom villa at the Beach Club. I packed food that would travel easily - rice pasta, boxed mac & cheese, pancake mix, cereal, raisins, peanut butter, etc. I was able to pack it all into our checked luggage. We were able to get fresh food at the little store at the resort. We ended up with lots of leftovers from dinners that we ate out. We always seemed to have extra gluten free rolls and brownies that we couldn't eat at a meal. I did bring about a dozen zip lock bags along so that we could bring the extra rolls back to the room with us.

Hope yo have a great trip!

Thanks for the responses. I will ask DSIL if she can pack a few things to bring down. We are doing carry on only since it is only for 3 nights. It would be easier if we just ate out for most of our meals since I have heard that WDW is one of the best places to dine with allergies. Unfortunately DBIL, (who won't be coming on this trip), is a bit of a cheap skate and would probably throw a fit if she spent a bunch on dining out. Hopefully we can come to a happy medium. I just didn't know if I could get some frozen waffles and other breakfast type things from a grocery delivery to eat in the villa.
Maybe I'll email We Go Shop since they will go to the store of your choice to shop and see if they can get some things.

Thanks again.

When we travel we take food a soft sided cooler on the plane. We bring the grains such as cereal, GF protein bars, bread, and snacks. Most grocery stores have the dairy and protein items that are GF free. Having one or two meals in the room can save you money, then you could enjoy one meal out a day.

I have used WeGoShop before and are using them again in just a few weeks :goodvibes

My family does not have any dietary restrictions, but I do know that WGS will purchase what you ask for...

They will also shop at a specific store if you know of one in the area that has the items you need.

If you have specific name brands for them to look for they will get that..They will call you while they are shopping and ask you questions if they have any.

We LOVE WeGoShop! Marge (the owner) is awesome! Fabulous customer service!

Hope this helps! :)

Frozen waffles aren't the best idea unless you plan to heat them in the oven. Toasters are likely to contaminate foods with gluten.

Since it's a short trip and not many meals, can you afford to gift them some of the meals or a gift card to be used towards meals?

How about cereal for breakfast? I know that one of those services will shop at any store you want and the Super Walmart near my house carries Silk soy milk. Some regular brands of cereal are gluten and dairy free (like the Malt-O-Meal fruity pebbles or the name brand Fruity Pebbles or name brand Rice Chex). Get some Hormel Black Label bacon in the order and some eggs as well in order to get some protein into them. You've now got breakfasts.

You really don't need to have many specialty gluten & dairy free products. Fresh fruits and vegetables are naturally gluten & dairy free. Get some nuts and chips for additional snacks. If you want meals in your resort then get some meats (Jenny-O and Hormel have great gluten free lists on their websites so you can tell the person exactly which specific items you want). Just have her shop at Super Walmart where she should be able to find any of these foods.

WDW really is the most amazing place to travel with food allergies. I'd personally want to eat at least one, preferably 2 meals outside the room. Breakfast I like in the room for the most part just because that way I can get out to the parks quicker, but that's just me.
