Hi there,

We are heading to WDW in January & my husband has Celiac Sprue. Obviously you know what that is & I don't have to explain. We have our table service restaurants picked out but I am trying to find any info I can about counter service meals that provide you with decent gluten free foods. Maybe something besides the burger without the bun, that's the old stand by that we always have. Thanks for your help! It's a frustraing process when you don't really know anything about the restaurants.

The restraunts we chose are:

Mama Melrose's/FantasMic dinner package @ MGM
Coral Reef @ Epcot/Living Seas
Le Cellier @ Epcot
Tony's Town Square @ Magic Kingdom
Shutter's @ Carribean Beach Resort
Kona Cafe @ Polynesian Resort
Capt'n Jack's @ Downtown Disney

Any opinions on these?

Go here they have information about all of the counter service, table and snack restaurants locations and menus. Their is also a section about special diets. I hope this helps and gives you a better idea of what is available.

Thanks for the thread. My mom has Celiac and wants very much to go to WDW. I am just starting to plan our "girls trip" and I am so glad to know they will be accomodating. Did you call ahead or just talk to them when you arrived?
She can be pretty sensitive and attack can lay her low for an entire day... not how we want to spend our time!
Any suggestions?

Of your list I only ate at LeCellier (which had a great chef)
Other TS that where great are Concourse Steakhouse, The Castle, SciFi.
You need to call the week before to your TS and CS to talk to chef (not a hostess) give the CS a hours notice by phone or in person and they will get what they are lacking from other TS places.
CS that where good where in
MK- Pecos Bills hamburgers with gluten free bread and brownie
Cosmic Rays has chicken
AK- Restaurantosarus they fixed a GF pizza
MGM- Pizza Planet has a GF pizza
Epcot- Eat at Sunshine Sesons (located in the land) they have grilled salmon and potatoes, ice cream.

Most managers will let you check the labels of all foods and they have a book with ingredients listed for all foods.
They will prepare it seperate.
Brenda Bennett was the contact that we had and she will contact all of the chefs and have them call you, as well as email with ingredients of food in parks like ice cream.
Plus there is also the beloved turkey leg that you can eat :earboy2:
They are great if given a little notice.

Brenda Bennett's number is 407-824-5967
She is great to work with and does most of the work for you
