To all my gluten free friends! I have had the best experience dining at various locations in Disneyworld. Disney is so accomodating and careful regarding gluten free food prep and service. The best restaurants so far have been 1900 Park Fare, Spoodles, Boma Breakfast and the list goes on. I just wanted to post this to all of those who may suffer from food allergies to let them know that Disneyworld is the place to be!

Hello Erynn a,
Thanks for the encouraging words about gluten free dining. Our DD is having gluten issues and any other suggestions you have would be helpful. Did you make requests at the time you ordered? Any other specific restaurants come to mind where you did well eating gluten free??? PS - we're formerly from Guelph and Toronto. Thanks for the help!!!

Hello,

I was recently diagnosed with Celiac at the end of December and I made a trip to the world beginning of January. When you make dining reservations, it is best if you mention the food allergies or issues then. Once, you get to a table at the restaurant, a chef will come out and speak to you about your food issues. They will go over what would be safe for you to order or what they could make you. If you're at a buffet, they will go over what would be safe and what wouldn't. They have also made me special food that was gluten free.

Eating gluten free, I did very well at Turf Club at Saratoga Springs Resort. The chef was very accommodating. He made me gluten free chicken fingers for my appetizer. He repeatedly came out to check on me and make sure I was enjoying everything.

I also did very well at Donald's Safari Breakfast. The chef walked around the buffet with me pointing out what was safe and what was not. He made me gluten-free Mickey waffles. He apologized for not having any gluten-free pastries. He gave me three gluten-free brownies to take with me for later in the day.

Hope that helped! :thumbsup2

Our dd(now age 190 IS gluten intolerant and we have made 3 trips since she was diagnosed. Some tips:
1. for table service let them know when you make your reservations, and also when you check in for your meal.
2. for counter service, immediately go to the stands where you order and ask to see a manager. The manager will bring out the book with the gluten free options and offer anything else they have. Do this before the rest of your party orders because often the GF option takes longer. They usually have Amy's rice pizzas.
3. We've had great experiences with Jikos, Coral Reef,Narcoosees and Rainforest Cafe (the one in AK). CS at Electric Umbrella was good, not so good at Columbia Harbour House. Was good at Cosmic Rays
4. Great experiences here at Turf Club as the OP shared. Also at Artist Palette-chef remembered DD when she came to get something and started options for her, even gave her a complimentary new type of GF brownie and asked for her feedback.
Overall, we had good experiences and she was very pleased. The biggest suggestion I have is to allow enough time as especially at counter service the process takes longer.

The Turf Club does some amazing things for people with food issues. Chef Ron goes out of his way to create things that most of his guests would never even dream of eating in a restaurant!

I know the other day, some little girl with dairy issues had her first milk shake.....EVER!

Talk about magic!

HI there

If you go to the disabilities forum, there will be a sticky at the top of the page, you will find a link to Brenda Bennet at disney. Email her and she will email you a list of safe foods around the world. I was tested for celiac last year and it was negative, we were in planning stages for our trip and she was wonderful.
