My family and i are going to the World in mid-July and so we were just looking over all our ADRs to make sure it is what we want. We were also checking to see that each place had GF options as my older brother was diagnosed with celiacs disease/wheat allergy a few months ago...(He is also deathly allergic to tree nuts, so we know how good Disney is with allergies). The one ADR we were not sure of was O'hana :confused3 We were wondering what they put on the meat (ex. soy sauce, a dry rub, etc) and if it contained gluten. So if anybody has eaten at Ohana with celiacs or a wheat allergy i just wanted to know if the food was safe for him to eat and if not how do they accommodate?

Thanks for the help :goodvibes

We had dinner at Ohanas one evening last year and enjoyed it a lot. It was definitely one of the best meals we had during our stay :)

You can get the shrimp GF for sure but I'm not sure about the other meats because I didn't eat them. The salad was amazing, the dressing they used was so light but flavorful. I LOVE my veggies :) They went above and beyond to ensure that I had a great meal so I'm sure that they'll be able to accommodate you. Just be sure to note your allergy concerns on your reservation.

We have had a couple trips to WDW with a celiac or two.

Most restaurants use a Kinoman soy which contains Gluten.

La Choy does not Edited, it does not contain wheat, but is nade in factory that contains Gluten and it is not segregated, so they can not say Gluten free on the label)

Some GF soy sauces are more salty than the ones that contain gluten

Most likely if the meat is pre-marinated he will have to get a plain steak, if the marinade contains gluten.

Most dry rubs at good restayuarants are GF, unless they are using RYE which can be found in a lot of beef rubs.

Barley and wheat are used as fillers in lower quality items.

To get back to a simple answer any WDW restaurant will have Gluten free options, we avoid Italy even though I ma sure they could accomidate too, and if they already have beef, it may just be that it is not marinated.

your best be add it to the reservation and tell them when you arrive
