Hey there, here's some of my favorites around World Showcase. I also have a
gluten free disney blog here but I haven't posted any WS reviews yet (they're coming!).
My number 1 favorite spot is
SPICE ROAD TABLE. I had serious doubts (I try not to eat meat and most of gluten free Morocco is meat) but their hummus fries are one of the best things (gluten containing or gluten free) I've ever had. I was so skeptical that they were actually gluten free I asked the waiter how they're made (turns out they freeze dry the hummus then fry it). Just amazing. They have some other really great dishes and they brought me a plate of crunchy veggies for their dips. We did a lighter lunch, 4 people ordering 6 appetizers and it was just wonderful.
In France check out the Boulangerie. They have a creme brulee that's gluten free and their chocolate mousse sometimes is (I've gotten mixed reports). Even though it's not listed as GF you can get the cheese plate and ask them not to put bread on it for a little more "real food" than all the other great snacks! They can also get you gelato from a non-contaminated container at the gelato shop.
On the list for next trip to try is Tutto Gusto in Italy, I've read some pretty outstanding reviews of their GF dishes!
In Japan you can get sushi at Kabuki Cafe (although this depends on if you can tolerate soy sauce, I'm not sure if they carry gluten free soy sauce at the quick service but I don't react to regular soy sauce).
In the other countries it can get pretty limited, America is one of my "don't even bother trying" countries. I've heard mixed reports about Mexico since the restaurant inside isn't Disney owned and I've read experiences of them not being as great with allergies as other places. At the moment I don't think the fish & chips shop has a gluten free frier or gluten free batter, I haven't found anything in Canada either.
Generally don't forget popcorn and of course Mickey Bars are gluten free and available just about everywhere if you get snackish!
ps- it's not in WS but on the Boardwalk nearby Trattoria Al Forno is awesome, especially for breakfst (gluten free mickey waffles with espresso cream, so good!)
