Do a lot of people buy these and use them at Disney World?

I haven't been since they've released them, so I was just curious if there is a big turnout of people using them each night at Wishes/Fantasmic? I know they had problems at Disneyland with only a few people actually buying them, so the effect was lackluster.

Don't know about now, but in the first week of January there were only a handful. We were among the handful and really enjoyed watching each other's ears and the few others. We had dozens of people ask us where to get them and then related to us that they had tried but were told they were now sold out. So I don't know how many there would have been if they hadn't sold out shortly after we bought ours. And I don't know how many now, but we enjoyed ours even just among ourselves. YMMV

I was at the Magic Kingdom in March this year and bought a pair. But there were only a handful of other people with them.

I still like mine. :)

How much were the ears? Trying to decide if we are going to want them for our upcoming trip :)

Bought DS the glow with the show ears during our DL trip in August. They were about $25...were very heavy [he only wanted them on his head for about 10 mins before asking me to take them.] They don't fold up nicely to go in a bag...they are just awkward!

Add in that they blind everyone around the dumb things - not sad to see them go. I felt bad for the people around us, as I lost my night vision from those in front of us and from the corner of eye on DS's set.

My DD8 got a pair in November at DHS. They were $25. It was neat how they worked with the osmond lights at DHS. They were heavy but she wore them all evening. The day we went to MVMCP, the battery died at the park. They were selling them at MK then and the CM working the cart gave us new batteries.

The promotional videos had me me looking forward to picking some of the Glow with the Show ears on our next trip, but since then I've read so many discouraging things about their lack of availability, prevalence in the parks, and the extra weight that I'm now second guessing getting some.

Yeah, we bought both of our DDs the glow with the show ears while we were in DL last June. They were cool, especially during WoC and F. However, the girls thought they were really heavy and ended up putting them in their backpacks rather then wearing them. Like the PP said, they don't fold up nice either. I was contemplating bringing them for our upcoming trip, but since they would only wear them during Wishes (we aren't going to F this time around), I just don't know if it is worth me bringing them.

There were quite a few people with them on at Fantasmic at HS when we were there a few weeks ago. They weren't as distracting as I thought they'd be, except for the one kid a few rows in front of us that had ADHD ears ... they were about 5 seconds behind the rest of them, and would randomly revert to the default blinking mode.

There were plenty for sale right before the show started, the people walking around with all the blinky stuff had them, so selling out isn't a problem, at least not then.
