Just wondering if you've been able to bring glow sticks/necklaces in your carry on bags, since we are using magical express and won't have access to our bags right away

I'm not positive but I would think no. Since there is liquid in them, I think that they will fall under the liquid ban. Unless maybe, you can put them in a quart size plastic bag and convince them that each one is less than 3 oz.

I agree they should be OK in the Ziplock but proving they are at the 3oz mark is going to be the hard part.

I would pack any not being used the first night in your Checked luggage and just take what needed the first night into your Ziplock. This way if they do have to throw them out it's not a total lost.

NOT in carry on bags!! We had several tubes of the necklace/braclets conviscated (unknowingly in our carry on's). Our loss. Place them into your checked luggage to be safe.

Brought glow sticks along last December. They can go in checked luggage. Not in a carry on!

What kind of glow sticks/ necklaces did you take, and where did you purchase them. I've looked on websites and am not sure where to look in local dept. stores.

Does anyone recommend a site to purchase these ?

It's our first trip, I'd like to save the $$ not having to purchase the ones in the park.

NOW is the time to get them! Our dollar store has TONS since Halloween is upon us! They have a nice variety of glow sticks, necklaces, bracelets and combo packs. They also had a glow wand--Tink is bringing that to DD for MVMCP!

I also picked up some glow bracelets at Michael's craft store--15 to a package for only a buck!

You should have a fairly good chance of finding them with all of the Halloween stuff now in about any store. Just make sure to keep them in the packaging until you are ready to use them. You don't want them getting 'activated' by all of the handling of your baggage on the way there!

Good luck!

as we have purchased huge amounts of glowsticks for next to nothing in packs sold on ebay.

I bought some last year at the Dollar Tree the day after Halloween - and they were half off! I have some stashed away now, but plan to get more after Halloween this year.

I have one in a package that is marked 3oz. Why is this not allowed?

I am going carry on only to MNSSHP as we are only staying two nights and I was hoping to bring the one measly little glow necklace. :sad1:

I just flew Southwest from Pittsburgh to Orlando, and carried about 6 packages of glow sticks purchased at Walmart for 92 cents each, without putting them in my ziplock without an issue..... however... the package clearly states .8 mL time three tubes and they would have fit in a ziplock if I would have picked them out.

The star shaped wands at dollar tree look perfect for WDW and the best part they only cost one dollar
:thumbsup2

Dotto on Ebay. Look under the "Wholesale Lots" catagoties. Lots of novelty items and glow "things" of all kinds!

I just got back. I took the glow sticks in my luggage that I checked. No problem . Funny thing is I bought them back home also because we never went back to the room to get them at night. DH never felt like carrying them during the day.:lmao: So make sure you by the smaller packs that connect instead of the long necklace one.:goodvibes
