I am flying with Globespan from Glasgow to Sanford return.
I have booked business class because i thought it would then make up for the budget airline factor.
I've heard various bad reports and not many good. I know you alway hear the bad more than the good but i thought i would ask for all thoughts.
Can anyone help.
Only recent travellers please.

:confused3

I have never flown with them and probably now never would. There are far more bad reports than good ones if you look on other internet sites. Even their employees are now giving them stick.
We always keep up to date with airline info and that together with a little luck has resulted in no problems in many flights over the past 10 years.

Thanks for your advice. I have read for months and months all the reports, but the Glasgow - Sanford route doest seem to get as many.

From what I have read the chances are you should be OK with them, the problems are when something goes wrong, they are not good with dealing with it but many fly with no problems.

I flew with them last month and had no complaints, 1/2 late departing but 1/2 hour early in landing and no other flights came in at the same time so we were straight through immigration and were out of the airport at the time we should have landed.

We flew home the day a small aircraft went down at Sandford and while we were there the airport was on high alert but we left on time and the only delay in landing was the usual early morning problems at Glasgow! Our spot was occupied and the baggage handlers changed shift so there was a bit of a delay getting the luggage but that did effect all the airlines.

Crew were Spanish, Spanish plane both ways but couldn't complain about them either. Flight wasn't full so plenty of room to spread out.

Hi,

I have'nt flown with them personally but my nephew did recently.

He had nothing but praise for them, said the staff were nice, the didn't order meals but chose to buy snacks etc from the cart and said that was ideal.

He's a tall chap and did say the leg room wasnt great but for the price of the flights he was prepared to deal with that.

Ive only ever flown to Orlando with United and Virgin and that was either Premium Economy or the United equivalent (cant remember what it was called) becuase I think the flight itself is part of the holiday but others disagree and for them Globespan is ideal.

As others have said when things go wrong thats when they seem to struggle and they ger bad reports.

However im sure this won't happen on your holiday, have a magical time:goodvibes

Hi,

Haven't flown with them.........yet! Booked for next summer direct from Belfast with their new premium economy seats. From here (Northern Ireland) we are extremely limited in direct flights (I actually think there are only 2 in total) and I got such a good deal :goodvibes

I have spoken to locals here who have travelled with them and they certainly would again. A direct flight beats sitting in Gatwick for hours on the way out and the way back - relax don't expect their to be trouble ;) They have flights every day - not all of them have problems.............you will be fine :goodvibes

Hi I flew (economy) with them on the 11th June and returned on the 27th June with them. I could not fault them whatsoever. I think people are quicker to post the negatives while those of us who have a good experience tend to leave it as we have nothing to complain about. Remember the GS have been on this route for only a year and are a baby in comparison to the bigger airlines. Our original flight was changed from 9.30 to 2.10pm. That was the only change for us. We left on time and arrived an hour early. Check in at Glasgow was done in 5mins. The staff were pleasant and friendly. Coming home the flight left on time and arrived back on time. No problems again. I booked with them for next year before we came home. We had 20kg luggage allowance, headfones were £1 and there was plenty of drinks ect on board to purchase although if your BC you get it free. Next years economy flights now have 25kg allowance, meals and entertainment plus i got the flights for £1095 for 4 of us. I hope you have a good experience with them as we did. Glasgow needs direct flights like this!

Thanks Frances
I notice you had the flight moved to 2.10pm as i have.
THis may sound sad but can you tell me was the plain the ex Neos plane (blue) or Globespans own (white)?
Also some reports say the entertainment not that great? Hoping good for the kids!

Hi, We flew on the blue neos plane. Yes the entertainment wasnt the best but on our flight back there were fliers introducing some new hand held centres with sports, movies and entertainment. Dont know when this is happening although it did say soon. We were kind of prepared anyway and had taken a portble dvd player for the kids plus we had a laptop so we made our own entertainment, lol. For the price we paid i was happy with the service received. I loved having the choice of wether we anted to pay for meals ect. By the way from what i have heard the BC meal is nice for plane food as is the level of service. Sorry i cant remember the films.:)

One of them was Finding Nemo

We are flying out of Manchester with Virgin. We booked my mum and brother to fly out of Glasgow on Globespan on the same day. They are flying Business for the same price that we are paying for cattle deck on Virgin. I have heard alot of different accounts of globespan...and i am a little nervous..it is my mums first trip to Florida and i want it to be great so it is important that the flight is good. Globespan have already moved the flight departure time, which was a little inconvenient as we had arranged a town car to bring then to meet us at Orlando Int. , but after extensive serching, my husband reports that most of the flight problems reported on line are to Canada, not Florida. Furthermore the leg room in Globespan economy is 2 inches MORE than we are getting on Virgin! Although we have a better luggage allowance. We are going to see how my mum gets on and maybe consider using Business Globespan rather than economy Virgin if it is ok!
