We don't have any particular axe to grind about Globespan, but thought we would tell you this tale about my Mum & Dad who just returned from Canada with Globespan.
They flew from Manchester to Hamilton 6 weeks ago, flying P.E (or whatever GS equivilant is) and everything was perfect, this was around the time everyone was complaining about GS and we were tempted to post saying how good they had been.
Then came the return trip, they should have landed at 8.40am Thursday and finally landed at 14.15. The problem their direct flight had to land in New York to pick up stranded passengers. This is what they were told at check-in, what really happened was GS decided they didn't have enough passengers in New York to fill a flight so thought it was more cost effective to divert the Hamilton Flight to New York to pickup a few more.
On landing in New York, they all had to disembark from the plane and then go through immigration. This took 3 hours (they were told by an immigration official that had they been informed they would have been landing they could have staffed up to cope with this but Globespan neglected until the last moment to let them know).
Now for the best bit they filled in their green visa waiver form, got through immigration, collected cases and had to go and check back in. Cases taken they made their way to the gate at which point the Visa Waiver was taken off them, so they held it for a full hour.
One guy on their flight was refused entry has he had an entry restriction on his file and was sent back to Canada, with him protesting he never wanted to come into the US.
After eventually landing back at Manchester it turned out that everyone who was on the original flight, their luggage didn't turn up only the ones they had diverted to pickup.
They finally contacted GS today who said it would be Tuesday (6 days late) before they get their luggage back.
