I am booked Flyglobespan package though travel agent so that is ok....

But here I am back in the wonderful August flights discussion.

Great but counting my blessings.

So, any advice re Continental who were my next choice. I would need to change at Newark at arrive at MCO which I have never done.

Can you tell me as much as possible as I worry about everything....

1. Tell me about Newark - how do I cope with that, best time between flights, immigration, gates etc

2. MCO - car hire and return - good companies

3. Anything else I should know???

4. Flying from Belfast if any others suggestions very welcome.

Oh terrific. We'd booked for next August so will be onto the credit card company tomorrow to find out what I need to do. All the other flights from Edinburgh are so expensive(!), but I've pretty much resigned myself to now paying it. Phhhht- at least we're still going to Disney.

I think it depends on whether they booked a package or direct with FlyGlobespan.com. It booked a package then they will be covered by ATOL and the CAA withh get them flights home. If not then they will have to arrange flights home through another carrier - not sure how this works

Our usa flight should be covered gonna tel cc tom, leave the lines open for those stuck places, but the tenerife and barcelona flights all under 100 pounds so thats just tough on me!

Any news re money back from visa? might just be tempted to call them today

Lots of snow! Shame it can't decide whether it wants to lie or not. :lol:

I phoned Egg this morning and they are going to send me a declaration form. They did warn me that their investigations team are currently working on cases from mid-November but I don't really mind a delay. We'd only paid a £400 deposit and so long as I eventually get it back I'll be happy.

its so bad for passengers and staff of globspan, and its a real shame for those who bought tickets in the last few weeks as a lot of info is on forums that I linked into last night, that they would be going down pre xmas. On a fight crew forum it had said that comos pilots had been put on stanby to be ready over dec to operate resue flights. Good luck to all who are now trying to rearragne hols.

Ps where are those who said it was snowing. No snow yet in north ayrshire. Hope it stays away, we have got to drive to manchester on monday for our VA flight tues am, and we can't leave until midnight as eldest is at year final year ball the forcast snow if it arrives is going to make it a hell of a drive.

the whole situation for everyone sucks. We are lukcy we were about to book but DH wanted to wait and see and then I read the other posts about problems. Looks like its going to have to be an alternative.

And its snowing in aberdeen and VERY cold.

its at times like this i want to live in scotland!! we have no snow

hope everyone is safe, and financially covered, i do feel very sorry for the people who worked for the company, dh was made redundant a few years ago 3 weeks before xmas, its awful...
