Global Warming is happening, I don't think anybody except loons are denying that. It's just what is causing it that causes the debate. Saying CO2 causes it, then showing a graph over the past 50 - 100 years isn't really that good in showing what is happening. Sure it shows a steady rise in CO2 emissions, but the only problem is when compared with a graph that goes back 300 million years or so we see that we are nowhere near the highest levels of CO2 ever produced.

In fact we are nowhere near the highest temperatures. When temperatures averaged around 75 degrees or so life flourished. Maybe Global Warming is just a normal cycle of the Earth. We are in an ice age right now, and throughout the Earths life there have been more times where the ice caps weren't there.

Changes are coming, we as humans are just going to adapt.

okay.
so one time we were gonna go watch a movie at the local movie theater. but then our principal said we couldn't because it was "too cold" or something stupid. and then we had to watch the al gore documentary on global warming.

wow. ironic.

and we have earth day stuff on this on friday. but idk about it. i think it's all just hype. but don't flame me on that cuz i have NO idea what i'm talking about

Explain to me what an ice age is...I'm very interested.

I think global warming is quite possibly the least of our problems right now. Because between the diesease, poverty, and violence going on in the world, we will blow each other up far before the Ozone layer collapses.

That said, global warming is causing an enormous change in weather patterns, causing the horrible tsunamis and other natural disasters that resulted in the loss of thousands of lives and billions of dollars in damages. Yes, the weather was crazy before, but it is getting worse and worse very quickly. It DOES need to be stopped, but only through unanimous efforts, because there are always going to be people who mess things up. Not until we have near-global unity are we going to be able to do anything significant about it...which brings me back to my original argument.

Actually, I was under the impression that we're under the warm-up period for the next "summer" like time.

("summer" meaning that the Ice Age would be "winter". The Earth has seasons like hemispheres do.)

I think that it is important for us to focus on what global warming will do to us and our children. If various sites are to be believed than we have 50-100 years until we are going to be in be trouble. I think that it is selfish not to care about what happens to the earth after you die. What will happen to your children and your grandchildren? How can you not care about our only home?

By the way what does a 20 point infraction do to you since I recieved one for beng rude on the other forum.

I don't think we are in global warming. The Earth has been obtaining a weather pattern since the Ice Age when the Earth had frozen over. Some years we have an extremely cool summer and freezing winter while other years we have warmth and unusal heat. Some years ago the Earth got cold as we are warm right now and they screamed "Ice Age!!" And now we're screaming "Global Warming!" and years from now people will be screaming Ice Age again. I don't believe this is global warming...I believe this is people looking to blame something.

I'm not selfish. I just care more about the humans today.

Global Warning is not a real thread IMHO. I don't care how many websites you've visited, we're not going to go into Global Warming in 50-100 years.

Yes we are. Matter of fact Global warming is occuring right now with the melting of ice shelfs in Antartica and Greenland. Even you must have learned about this in Science. I have recently touched base on the subjecthist year in 9th grade and a little bit in 8th. I am surprised that you haven't.

And the meliting of the ice shelfs are a huge sign of Global Warming especially at the rate that they are melting.

and PS--I wonder how all those people who lost family members in the many tornado outbreaks which are not normal to have so many during the winter months would say to there is no global warming happening right now.
