Has anyone rented from Global Resort Homes? We are renting a TH in WH and the owner uses this company. Anyone know anything good or bad about them? After reading posts on here I am praying that the TH is clean and everthing is in working order.

Thanks

This is probably not what you want to hear, but Global is not a company that I would use as a management company for my home.

A couple of years ago, I was asked to look in at another homeowners property as he was unable to travel to it. It was managed by Global. I personally did not like the way the home was kept/maintained. No home will be perfect, but the home we looked at had several issues that were just not good for a home that was in between guests.

Perhaps my experience was a one off? If not, perhaps they have improved? I don't know. Global is one of the larger management companies out there.

Maybe the TH in WH is new enough that there will not be an issue? I hope everything works out for you.

I hate to hear that about Global. We're renting in Windsor Palms in Nov. from an owner who uses them. :scared:

Well, here is a good review for you!

We rented a four bedroom pool home in Glenbrook last June. It was managed by Global. The house was spotless and there was even a welcome packet with tea bags, coffee, coffee filters, sugar packs etc.

We had an issue with the pool heat. There was an error and it wouldn't shut off. We called and someone was there within twenty minutes to fix it!

hth!

We have always been happy with Global. If you do have a problem, they have a 24/7 number to get things put right.

Good to hear some positive things about Global! We'll hope for the best.

Anyone else? Good or bad?

I also didn't realize that we had to go off site to get the keys. What a pain!

I did know about getting the lockbox code at their office, but there's one in the Formosa Gardens shopping center that's right on our way to Windsor Palms. I think it's at 192 & Formosa Gardens Blvd. I don't think that's too far away from Windsor Hills (perhaps 1-2 miles), so I don't think it should be too bad.

It's a couple of minutes from WH, plus there's a Winn-Dixie right next door if you want to pick up some groceries on arrival (although we would recommend Publix nearby for your regular grocery needs)

We are renting in Windsor Hills next March and the owner has told me that Global will leave our keys in the lock box at the Formosa site as we will be arriving late. Ask your owner if he can arrange something for you.

Well their office is right nearby WHR at least, IPG's is 15+ mins away!

One thing you absolutely need to know about Global though, they're a stickler on early checkin times. When they say 4pm checkins, they mean 4pm and not a minute earlier unless you have made other arrangements in advance.

Our realtor works for Global Real Estate and says people show up there early (same office) all the time looking for keys and early checkin and they tell them ALL to come back at 4pm.

At least that way the cleaners have time to do the job.

Oh yes....I didn't mean it as a negative comment in any way. The comment I've heard is that the cleaners have the keys, and return them to the office when they're done cleaning, and they usually don't get done until right before 4pm, hence the rule about no early checkins without prior arrangements. I just thought people should know, I hear people show up at their office early ALL the time and are told to go "kill time" and come back at 4pm! hehe

Better to know this up front than come early and be disappointed!

Note that the only way to get extra keys from Global is to request them once you've checked in and return to pick them up the next business day (Mon-Fri only) after 4pm. The housekeeping folks bring spare keys with the next day's check-in keys. We had a *very* frustrating experience trying to get keys, since in the off season the office frequently closes early without posting updated hours and you needed to pay the key deposit at key pickup, so they couldn't be left in the lock box.

Personally, having rented a Global-managed condo I wouldn't ever do it again, but it wasn't so absolutely terrible that I was miserable about having ever done it.

I had a wonderful experience with Global last spring. They did allow us to check in about 3pm ( 1 hour early). The office is only 1 mile from the resort, they were very nice. We decided to stay an exrta night and luckily the house was available and they were very easy to work with. We had to drop the key off at 6 am to catch our flight, and they had a very easy to use lockbox to return your keys in. No problems at all, would not hesitate to use them again.

Glad to hear some positive responses about Global.

My experience was through the eyes of a (probably very, very picky) owner (me!!!) and I was checking in on a home for another owner - so I was on the look out for issues. :rotfl2:

I can't stay anywhere without having my owner hat on (what would I improve, what ideas can I get for our home etc...).

I am sure you will be fine.

The large pool home we rented this past July was managed by Global. Honestly I wouldn't have remembered that but they just sent me an email!

I thought they were fine. The office was just down the street from WH and we were planning on stopping by the Winn Dixie for some immediate supplies anyway. We also got an extra house key that was ready the next day.

The home we rented was so new I don't think it was possible to find any negatives with it yet. The furniture and everything was just as shown on the home tour. Because of the time of year we didn't need any pool heat so other than keys we really didnt need anything during our stay.

We did find their office staff to be very friendly and helpful and our house was very clean upon arrival.

Everyone's experience will vary no matter where you stay but I wouldnt be concerned about it just by their name alone.
