Global Microsoft Crowdstrike Outage

Other than this thread & a notice on the Universal website, I wouldn't have known anything is going on. No issues that I've noticed at all.

I first heard about it around 6 this AM, and when we tried to log onto our cameras at the office our server was down. I had to go to Lowes and was there around 7:30, took cash with me in case they couldn't handle cc, but there was no problem using my card there. By the time I made it into the office around 8:30 our server was back up and *knock wood* no issues so far today. WITH THAT BEING SAID it appears that several entities/companies we deal with may have been affected as the phone has been suspiciously quiet and I've only gotten one email all day! I have been trying to deal with something on the State of VA Board of Contractors website today, but it's not up so maybe they are fouled up.

Several flights - a whole lot of them, majority of them American & Delta delayed/canceled at BWI. And while Southwest has flights getting out, they were reporting that only about half of them were able to take off as of about mid-day today. Haven't paid attention after that.

So, thankfully our business operations were not fouled up.

That's what I was wanting to order also. I'll have to wait for my free birthday one tomorrow, if the outage is over by then. :coffee:
You can walk in and order and still use your rewards. I went old school at lunch & walked in and ordered. Was able to get my $3 drink and use my card to pay as well.

THIS.....is why I keep cash on hand.
I rarely have much cash on hand but when the impending Russian invasion of Ukraine was imminent back in early 2022, I withdrew a chunk of cash and put it in my dresser. Just in case of a Russian cyber attack on us. Money is still sitting there, rubber banded up as it was 2 1/2 years ago.

Is the cash on the side of socks or the underwear, Dan? ;) :teeth:

The cash registers won't work if they can't logon to the computer systems.
They generally have a back up system to allow them to keep running and once everything is back running, the backup will dump it into the main system.

I was unable to get gas at speedway. I was a bit worried, but had no trouble filling up at Kroger.

Shades of the early 1960's after the Bay of Pigs. A week's worth of canned food and water in the trunk of the car, and a designated meeting point out of state.

I work in banking and we were not affected by it some. It wasn’t anywhere near a catastrophic level. If we didn’t hear about this stuff on the news, we would have just assumed it was a typical day trying to work with our dreadfully crappy equipment.

Daughter's flight out of California tonight is delayed.

Her arrival home has shifted by an hour and a half so far.

Picking daughter up now. Flight was delayed 2 1/2 hours.

For a while, she thought she would miss her connecting flight and explored other options of trying to fly into other airports today.

But somehow this one all worked out. Haven't got the entire story, yet.

She just landed at 9 pm and hasn't eaten since breakfast. I'm sure she's wiped out.

Apparently it’s affecting hotels also. We’re on a weekend trip and the Hilton next door is experiencing issues. Some of our friends staying there can only access their rooms if staff physically opens the door for them. We are at a Country Inn & Suites and it is not affected.
