Glitch in the new system - 190 Day ADRs?

It worked fine for me at just after 6:00 this morning. I was able to book the two reservations for the 16th that I could not book yesterday and also got what I wanted for the 17th.

Got my 50's prime time I was working on yesterday and then the one for the 17th. We are all booked for our secret with the cousins first trip vacation!

My 180 days is today I did try several times to try and book early and no matter what I did it did not work for me.. So when I get home from work today I am calling to complain that it was unfair that people got an advantage for booking and for those of us that could not get in on that did not have a fair advantage for getting those hard to get ADR's. I was up at 6am today to try and get Le Cellier for my trip I understand that Le Cellier is difficult to get regardless but it is just unfair :sad2:

Still waiting to hear how your complaint call went last night...

There is no real wrong or right here until Disney either fixes this glitch or decides to promote it as a benefit to those staying on-site. Right now it is what it is.

People are well within their rights to call and complain if they want to. They are not required to come back to the DIS and tell the class what their personal conversation was unless they choose to do so.

If you think it is a great benefit, then maybe you should call Disney and let them know what you think as well. That's the great thing about opinions, we all got 'em.

This thread is a great source of information, but if it turns into snarking, bullying and fighting amongst ourselves, it will be closed.

Not sure if this will help,

I wasn't able to make any ressies at first--I kept getting an error message. I believe it was because I was signed into the site.

I signed out, chose a date more than 180 days out and at that point I was prompted to "sign in". I did, and entered my resort confirmation number. After that step I had no difficulty getting to the ADRs.

Try this on for size:

I saw the initial "190-day ADR revelation" thread well in advance of our 190-day mark. However, since we are a party of 11, I have been unable to make any online ADR's (Disney's site only allows you to make an ADR for up to 10 people). So for the past 10 days, I've been watching helplessly as everyone else on this forum posts the ADR's they got during (and after) the dates we're also down there (12/7 - 12/14). It's hard enough as it is to get ADR's for 11 people - should be interesting to see what's left now that I'll be calling 10 days after the fact.

This was our problem for some too! We're a party of 12 (traveling with my extended family and friends!) I had to wait and call. I booked Biergarten for the night of my birthday!:goodvibes

Actually, that's a good idea. I think I WILL contact Disney to let them know how much I like the new 190 day policy.

In the meantime, I really was curious what the person was told who said they were going to call to complain. Did Disney agree that it was a glitsch or did they say it was 190 days on purpose? Did they say early made reservations would have a problem since they weren't fair, or not? Sorry, I thought it was fair to ask the person what the result was. I asked it again here only because the original thread was mushed into this one and the question was lost being all out of order at this point.

Edit: I did find the email for Disney customer service and sent a thank you note for the 190 day procedure as opposed to the old 180+10. I explained why I think the new 190 day rule is fairer for booking for everyone and told Disney that I really like the new policy.

Good luck!!!:goodvibes

Thanks!

How funny - we booked Biergarten for a birthday in our group as well!

So I called up this morning to make our ADR's for our party of 11. Had a very nice CM assisting me - she was very pleasant & helpful. We got everything we wanted at or near the times we wanted. :thumbsup2

Then, as she's about to go over the ADR's with me and give me the confirmation #'s, I hear her say "oh shoot - why can't I see that screen anymore?" At that point, she says the last thing you want to hear when you just finished making ADR's: "Sir, there was a glitch in the system and your ADR's somehow didn't go through - I'm going to need to re-enter all of these." :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Amazingly enough, she was able to re-enter all 10 of our ADR's for the same time we initially had. Thank goodness! :)

I was actually surprised we got everything we wanted at the times we wanted (considering our group size). I guess it helped that we weren't trying for Le Cellier or CRT. ;)

Can you tell me how you made an ADR booking for December 18th please?
When I check it will let me see December 17th and book (as I have a resort reservation) but I can't select anything past the 17th.

Thanks,
Chokky

*Edit...OP got back to me...it was the 17th not 18th.

I just got off the phone with WDW.. I was making a Fantasmic reservation and he said it was a glitch in the system but who knows it depends on who you talk to.

I'm very happy I was able to do 190 but I do feel bad for those who couldnt or dont know about it.. it really isnt fair but I guess I not a good person cause I'm not willing to cancel mine and wait.

Since Disney did not make an announcement regarding 190 days and all their literature still says 180 days plus 10 AFTER your first vacation day, then a good assumption would be that this is not an official change to the system, but some sort of malfunction on the website. If that's so, then Disney doesn't owe anyone 190 day reservations. If you got 'em based on the glitch, then you likely get to keep them. Don't see why anyone who got them should be required to cancel them yourself because other people didn't know the website had a problem.

There's also no current way to know how Disney itself might handle ADRs made via the error.

You can, of course, let Disney know that you prefer the 190 days, but eventually they are probably going to fix the website so it does what it's supposed to do.

Sorry, it was the 17th. I had the dates wrong in my head.

my ressies didn't link to my resort reservation number but I have about 7 confirmation numbers and emails linked to my sign on.

I wonder if that will be a problem. I can get them by signing on with my old log in...not my dvc log in. The resort reservation was made with my DVC log in.

It won't be a problem at all. I usually make a list of the date, time, location and confirmation numbers and bring the list with me each day. (You don't need it, but it's nice to have those confirmation numbers if there is ever a question about a reservation.)

I like it. I agree with you on the one disadvantage, which is having to log in each day to secure your reservations.

However, I have to admit that the disney freak in me is enjoying the fun of logging in each day right now (our trip is Dec 4th - 11th, so a new day is popping up each day)

I have also enjoyed logging in and reminding myself we are GOING BACK!! Cannot wait until December 11! Also got every ADR I wanted.

We are checking in on Dec 18. It will let me book the 18th and 19th but not for the rest of the trip. I called and was told it was a glitch and to book what I could and keep trying or call back at my 180 day point. They said they were trying to fix the problem.

It's extremely disappointing and frustrating that Le Cellier is completely booked for our week in late November already.

Unfortunately, even without the glitch, November would probably be booked up for LeCellier. November 30th opened up for their 180 days back on June 3rd.

Just keep checking online for cancellations, and you can also subscribe to the November Canceled ADRs thread to see if anyone posts a LeCellier cancellation that would work with your schedule.

Tricia's correct: Le Cellier books up fast, especially during the time when the Candlelight Processional will be presented, because they are holding tables back for the CP meal packages which are not available yet. Le Cellier is small, and doesn't have that many tables to spare.

It's almost all booked up for the 3rd week in December too! I'm glad I got mine in, yikes. I can't believe how fast this filled up, especially with the glitch (or whatever this is)
