Glitch in the new system - 190 Day ADRs?

We went one time, and it was great. To be fair, I don't have a lot of experience with Table service dining at Disney. It may be that the others are way better, but I was extremely happy with it. It is a little bit more "Stuffy" than others, but it's got a really awesome fish tank, so I'm hoping it keeps the kids entertained. :)

We just rebooked it for this december.

We pretty much ONLY eat at TS and mostly Signature restaurants. Our favorities are Jiko and California Grill. Coral Reef is nice but doesn't compare to those two in my book. It is a TS restaurant that is in the Future world section of Epcot though and that makes it convenient for us for lunch. The fish tank is great entertainment for adults as well as kids. The food is good, too. Just a bit expensive for the portions you get. I'm not a big eater so that works for me, I don't waste a lot of food there.

Phone CMs have been known to not provide the best information. If it was a promotion, it probably should be promoted ;). (Officially, Disney has been silent about the issue.)

There's reports of another CM (somewhere in this beast) stating that it's a known bug with the website as well. So we're still don't have the answer.

I think you're absolutely right. I even asked why they weren't promoting it and he didn't have an answer. Anyway, I called again just to be certain and got the same story both times.

I think Disney is pretty smart. If they wanted to stop people from doing this, they could do it easily, so I'm inclined to believe it's intentional.

ETA:: Cafeen, I just realized I read your TR a while back--I really like it!

From a Microsoft/Rockefeller/Mega-Corporation style business perspective... yes. I have serious doubts about their QA, IT, Web Development, and Project Management departments though ;) (and there's the daily dis! Are you keeping score at home? :p)

Glad you enjoyed it :). I'll be writing another one in about 4 months. It may not quite be as entertaining without the little one around though :(.

In all, it could be a reality, something is messed up one way or the other though so it's very tough to say. If they are promoting it, they should really be promoting it rather than just letting us guess (and get some darn consistency with the different ADR dates!). At least we could have a definitive answer and I can get going on the Online ADR Tutorial v2 (I've been holding off redoing it until this settles.... I may be waiting awhile).

Rats! (No offense, Remy!) For 4 days the 190 has worked beautifully. Today I want to book most difficult ADR and the system is down for maintenance! Do you think they are finally fixing the "glitch?" I'm going to keep trying, but I know that I can't phone at 7:00 for a ressie 185 days out.

The system is back up, but it does not appear to be accepting reservations for beyond 180 days of your check-in date. Here's hoping that my first 4 days of confirmed ADRs stay safe! Now I doubt that I'll be able to score some of the remaining ones I want for the second half of our trip.

Editing to add that I now have a confirmed ADR for 190 days out. But I could not get the EPCOT or Boardwalk ones I wanted. I changed my plans and actually got a great time for CA Grill. I sure don't understand that!

I put in my real reservation number, I just put in a date that was 180 out instead of my actual date, 190 days out. I got an email confirmation, and I'm sticking with it. It's no different than if I had made my resort reservations for an earlier date and then changed them, which I could have since I started with a reservation that went fro 12/13-12/22 because we weren't sure of our dates. I canceled our extra days early, but I could have just left them until after booking ADR's, and it would have been legitimate. I doubt Disney wants hordes of angry people at their restaurants waving around confirmation emails :rotfl:

I am not able to book anything at HS for December 16th, lunch or dinner. Oh well, its not the end of all but still a pain. Everything else has been going so well but we are traveling with another family who eats very early so that has helped me. (And they dont want any of the big hitters like Le Cellier.)

My 180 days is today I did try several times to try and book early and no matter what I did it did not work for me.. So when I get home from work today I am calling to complain that it was unfair that people got an advantage for booking and for those of us that could not get in on that did not have a fair advantage for getting those hard to get ADR's. I was up at 6am today to try and get Le Cellier for my trip I understand that Le Cellier is difficult to get regardless but it is just unfair :sad2:

Just out of curiosity, if any of your attempts to book early HAD worked, would you still be calling to complain today about having an unfair advantage over others?

Try this on for size:

I saw the initial "190-day ADR revelation" thread well in advance of our 190-day mark. However, since we are a party of 11, I have been unable to make any online ADR's (Disney's site only allows you to make an ADR for up to 10 people). So for the past 10 days, I've been watching helplessly as everyone else on this forum posts the ADR's they got during (and after) the dates we're also down there (12/7 - 12/14). It's hard enough as it is to get ADR's for 11 people - should be interesting to see what's left now that I'll be calling 10 days after the fact.

I would book 2 parties for those hard to get ressies just in case then try to re-book it together at your 180 day mark! Most of the resturant ressies say "your party maybe seated at different tables" so if thats the case book em now just so you have them then re-book them later as one party of 11 and cancel the others. Good luck!!!:goodvibes

I agree! If you thought it was unfair why wouldnt you call and complain instead of try many times yourself then complain that it didnt work for you? I am not trying to flame but...........................

They're definitely working on the system. I'm one of the many people who couldn't view their ADR's with the new drop down menu selection (ie. log into Disney, select "my reservations" and see a page with all of your ADR's + details listed). Today I logged in to change a reservation and I can now view this feature. I'm very happy - so much easier than having to put in each of the numbers to check up on my ADR's! Anyways, my point is they are definitely in there tweaking things. They are obviously aware of the 190 days by now. If they haven't stopped ppl from using it I'm thinking that it is intentional - but perhaps early enough in development that they didn't want a stampede of ppl flooding the system for ADR's. :confused3

I called WDW to try to do my Fantasmic package and I got the nastiest chicky ever! She gave me the biggest attitude ever when she realized I booked my ADRs at 190days.. she was like well thats not our policy did you use a 3rd party site?? How did you even know about it then?? and going on and on with such an attitude.. Tomorrow is my 180 day when I should be able to book and she told me all my ADRs that I made in the last week are going to disappear and not be valid

You'll definitely want to check on your ADRs after talking to her. She has the ability to make all of your ADRs disappear. Not saying she will, but she definitely could.

(My own personal feeling is that it's also renegade CMs who cancel double bookings when you hear of that occurring)

I would send an email to guest relations to complain. Did you get her name! That's just not acceptable! I would not have taken that from anyone especially a Disney employee! I booked my ADRs early and they are still there. I even had to call to fix one that I had put in the wrong day and nothing was said to me! That's just not acceptable.

I haven't heard of anyone else's ADRs disappear!

SO sorry you had to deal with someone who didn't have the MAGIC!

Exactly.

I wonder what the result of the complaint phone call was, too.

I just logged on to the dining reservations website (been on and off the website for 2 hours now) and it will not let me book my reservation that is 190 days out. I am able to input a reservation number, the calendar pops up to 190 days out, but when I click "search," it says that I've entered an invalid date. :rolleyes1

Previous reservations I made still appear in my "reservations" section.

Anyone else have this experience?

**update: I re-did the search, and I was able to see 190 days out again. Did anyone else get the date is invalid message? I think it is acting inconsistently...

Could it be because it is too early to book? I am pretty sure you cannot book before 6 am EST. (because I am anxiously awaiting that hour :rotfl2: attempting to get any kind of ressie at Le Cellier!)
