Glitch in my favour?

Just logged in to see my new points from a resale contract that just came in. It allows me to see both my membership numbers, but it also says now member from 2005 and 2011. The thing is we only received our first contract in 2012 and the second just this month. Not that its good use of points but is it showing on Disneys end this way so I could book all options?
Might take a members cruise, probably not, but if the option is there.

I think you got the sellers' year of purchase, but not any benefits they might have received for purchasing direct from Disney.

I assume others will correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't think so.

When we bought resale it should our member date as the date the seller had probably bought. But we have a resale since the change was made and while I haven't tried to use it for Disney collection or such I fully expect there's a field with a notation of it's non-qualified status.

Resale contracts seem to retain the original sale date in the DVC system.

never noticed it before, but only had the one contract. Just noticed it with the second, as I now have a drop down menu to pick which contract I want to use.
No rush to waste points, just seemed weird.

Yes, I have 2 and both have previous resale dates.

Same here, I have two contracts. The first bought from DVC direct and shows correctly. The second I bought last year resale and it shows an earlier year - which I guess was original buyers year of purchase. Didn't think much about it until now.

But when I try to look at booking the "world collection" with my resale membership number I get an error and when I try to book with my direct membership number it takes me to rci booking site. So the system appears to have been set with appropriate blocks even if the membership start date is from original purchase date.

World Passport (RCI) bookings are not blocked with post 2011 resale purchases (only Disney Collection, Concierge Collection and Adventure Collection reservations). I would contact MS and ask for help since you should NOT be restricted from World Passport options with any DVC contacts.

DW and I have three contracts, two purchased directly and one purchased resale. My contracts all show the year I purchased them. I have two accounts with DVC due to the resale contact being titled differently than the directly purchased.

I can't seem to find that info on the DVC site for my membership. I have 4 contracts, combination of direct and resale, all with the same UY and membership number.

Can you please point me in the right direction? I got curious reading this thread and now it's driving me nuts that I can't find it!

Are you asking about the member since 20XX? If so you can see that when you go to actually make a booking (or search like you are anyway) and it says near top "which member number would you like to use" and there is a drop down menu with our two membership numbers and they say "member since 20XX".
