Glenda's September 2008 WDW Adventure!

Hello all. I just joined the boards, and in my 'welcome' thread, MainStMandy gave me a link to this thread.

I'm headed up on Sep 6 (arrive sometime in the early afternoon) staying at Saratoga Springs in a studio, and staying to Sep 10.

I'll be traveling solo as I'm up for a business conference Tues & Wed - I decided to add a few days before the conference to enjoy some time in the parks.

I'm a DVC member and annual passholder, and live just a few-hours-drive south, so I'm a regular up there.

I have absolutely no ADRs...I rarely do, to be honest. I tend to be just about the polar opposite of "Wirki" - I plan or schedule virtually nothing while I'm up there! I don't even know which park I'll be going to for the day until I wake up...and sometimes the number of people on the bus when it arrives can change my mind.

If there are any non-dinner-reservations-required meet ups in any of the parks or Downtown, maybe I can stop by. I take lots of photos while there - I love photography, so that tends to be what I do the most at Disney.

I do enjoy the fine dining - but I tend to go without advanced reservations - I call when I get there to see what I can squeeze into. Since I travel without kids, I tend to eat later dinners, which makes it easier to get into some of the places on short notice. Jiko's my favorite restaurant at WDW...but I also enjoy San Angel, Le Cellier, Maya Grill, Narcoosees, Yachtsman Steakhouse, and the former Concourse Steakhouse and Alfredo's (RIP to both).

You made me laugh Justin. It funny....I never really thought of myself as an over planner before. But as my kids have gotten older, I find it helps keep my sanity(if that is at all possible lol)

Anyway..It is nice to meet you. My name is Debbie and welcome to the boards. My home resort is also SSR and I love it there. This trip we will be at POFQ so we could get the free dining. Just Hubby and I this trip.

We will be meeting up at DTD Adventure Club on the 6th and then hanging out at Epcot on the 7th. Quite a few of us are having dinner together at Le Cellier. Then just walking around and enjoying Epcot and the drinks there Hopefully you will be able to join us for something.

Nice to meet you too Debbie. I'll have to write down a few notes of where folks'll be so I can try to remember to check those places out at those times. Since I'm headed up on the afternoon of the 6th, and staying at SSR, I'll probably just boat over to Marketplace anyway the first night - so I may be able to make the Adventurer's club. If not, Epcot on the 7th is fairly likely so I'll keep my eyes peeled for a decent-sized drinking crowd. My buddy Brian and I usually do drinks around the world whenever we're up there - but I tend not to do it when flying solo...don't know what kind of message that would send.

Hi and welcome, Justin! I'm Jamie, and I'm traveling solo 9/7-15. First 5 nights at AKV and last 3 at VWL (although I'm waitlisted for BCV and BWV for the last 3 nights). I have several solo meals I'd be happy to share with you, but I'm not at home, so I don't have my ADRs accessible. If you're interested, let me know I know I have LeCellier on the 10th at 1:35 since I posted it earlier in this thread

At Pop there are 2 meet and greets between 9 and 10 at night on theSept. 5th and sept. 6th on is the Glow Party gals and we are combining the Glow gals and the Mojito Gals from last year.


Sept. 10th a bunch of us are doing POFQ Bar at 10:00
