Just a quick note about Disney. As long as you can get there, there -it is probably one of the safest places to be during any emergency. They have their own water treatment plant, power station, and can operate for 1 month running at full capacity(all rooms, in all properties booked solid) and all they staff needed to take care of those guests, with enough food and water for them for that month! I found this out from a 20 yr veteran bus driver. Pretty cool huh?

I just read this on another thread, that gives me a very safe feeling.

Ants I think you give me too much credit, our flight leaves at noon, I plan on getting Colleen to the airport early so she can get nice and liquored up. She'll either sleep or plain out won't care.

I was at Disney the morning after Charley, they are really prepared & safe!

Oh, and Disney Plan the final version! I can't change it now! haha.

I have to say that I worked at Disney (college program) when Andrew came through. We as CM's were trained on what to do if it hit Orlando. We were lucky that it missed us.
I was also at AKL when Wilma came through. They were great. We had everything we needed to help us. They even had characters come and play with the kids.

And I have to say that the parks were dead

ok saw doctor and he gave me the go ahead. the problem is my inner ear and it cannot be dealt with until it goes away on it's own.

I was told to spray my nose with Afrin right before the flight.

Also the headaches I have are migraines so was told to take excedrin mighraine and I did. so far still have one but it has only been 20 minutes since I took them.

also told to lose weight, um ok I did not mention I was on the deluxe dining plan.

I also have the ok to drink, but only til dinner. no problem.

Now I am excited.

I'm running around my apartment like a maniac. I'm leaving to drive down to RI (I live in Maine, my family lives in RI) right after work tomorrow (leaving at 2pm), so I have to make sure I have everything now!

So my mom's birthday is a few days after we get back, but I'm giving her her present before we leave. I'm actually charging the battery for it right now.... *drumroll* it's a new digital camera so I.. er I mean she.. can take a ton of pictures at Disney!! She dropped her old one at Fenway Park, haha.

I'm SOOO EXCITED!!!!!!!!

Well, I did it -- I got my lime green manicure today It's really wild for me, and I wouldn't do it for anything but Disney. I had her do my pedicure first, using a neutral color base with lime green dots. It looked cool but was way too subtle, so I went ahead with the full green treatment on my fingers

Yes, she knows! In fact, she's taking her family next summer, and I get to help with her planning since it will be their first trip . I think she has a DS14 & DD11.

So who has packed?? I have not. Still trying to figure out what to bring. Whether DH and I should share a carry on or check one bag and have a smaller carry on. What do you guy think? I arrive at 11 so I may have a wait for ME to get my stuff to me and for our room to be ready. I don't know

Took me long enough...but I finally have myself an avatar, and a custom signature. Yipee!

Just printed out my phone lists and such, so I don't forget it later. Tomorrow at work I need to print up my conference schedule for Tues/Wed. Filled up with gas on the way home from work today - my commute tomorrow and Fri will burn 70 miles, and the trip to Disney runs around 200...so I should have plenty to get there on 3/4 tank.

Hanna has thankfully kept herself out to sea, seemingly not bothering us - so my drive up should be OK. Ike is looking ominous...but I have no idea if he wants to go down to my house, up to Disney, or somewhere else entirely. I've got to alert the relatives to do a lockdown for my house if Ike comes visiting to South Florida while I'm at Disney...it would be nice to have a place to come back to (otherwise I might just have to move permanently to Disney World! )

I have my suitcase out and most everything in it except clothes. Everything for my carryon (a small nylon backpack) is sitting on top of it except cosmetics. I haven't done laundry yet and won't pack clothes until Saturday night. Then it's just a matter of throwing my makeup and stuff in the backpack and I'm ready.
