Glass water bottle with silicon sleeve

This is probably a stupid question but my favorite water bottle is glass with a silicone sleeve on the outside. I assume absolutely no glass is allowed to be brought into the parks?

That should not be a problem, I would imagine. Seeing how the glass component is enclosed. And it is a thermos type bottle to begin with.
Now if the glass were exposed, then I would think not.

I wouldn't chance it, especially if it's your favorite. You may end up having to make the choice to toss it or waste valuable park time and take it back to your hotel.

I'm guessing we're talking about a silicone jacket over a glass bottle. Parts of the glass are likely exposed and allow the user to see how much liquid is in there. Here's an example:

Camelbak has a new one:

If this is the type, then the silicone wouldn't be enough to keep the pieces together if the glass breaks. I wouldn't take anything like this inside unless it were a specific baby bottle, and there are baby bottles with similar patterns. They give stuff for babies a huge amount of slack compared to something that's obviously for adults.

Since it's your favorite water bottle I wouldn't chance it based on this from the Disneyland website under "Not permitted" items. If it's an enclosed thermos bottle it might be allowed, but you never know what one bag search security person will allow and another will not.

What items are not permitted within Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park?

Glass containers, with the exception of baby food containers, medicine or small perfume bottles (under 4 oz)

I wouldn't chance it, it's glass, glass is not allowed, just get a different water bottle to use while at DL. :)

You are correct, no glass containers are allowed.

In the end it is a judgment call in the case of these particular water containers.
I have read about types that are like this, where if the glass does break, it stays contained within the container.

I wouldn't chance it either.. I recommend the camelbak groove for disney. I currently use it and love it! It's plastic and has a filter in the straw (we all know disneyland doesn't have the best tasting water)! You can also ask for iced water free of charge at any quick service restaurant. I usually then pour the iced water into my water bottle to improve the taste.

I have never seen water bottles like that. I love them. Must buy me some.

Brita also have really good filter bottles. They are BPA free too (which I assume may be one of the reasons you prefer a glass bottle?).

I bpa is a reason but is also just like the way it tastes a lot more. I'm a nursing mom so I have to drink a ton of water to keep up. I will likely just leave it. Really don't want to buy more water bottles but whatever.

It would be worth it to buy a bottle at Target or wherever (they have bpa free), for less than $10, rather than buying water at the parks. If you don't want the bottle at the end, just toss it our donate it n

You are still on the fence about whether or not to bring it in? You said it's your favorite water bottle, you've posted a photo of one with exposed glass and a number of us have posted about DL's no glass container rule. There are so many toddlers and children in the park. They can trip and fall - imagine what it would be like if one fell on shards of glass from a broken bottle.

I totally understand your water bottle debate. We also only drink out of the glass with the silicone sleeve. Although plastic bottles are bpa free they aren't entirely chemical free. We know that bpa screws up your endocrine system but the other chemicals and their effects are still unknown, and as of yet untested. Since you don't want to lose your bottle ( I'd have to wonder if they'd even catch that it's glass ) I'd pick up a stainless steel bottle. That's what I send my little boy to school with because he's only five and I worry that he'd drop the glass bottle.

Did I say I was on the fence? No.

Don't worry all the toddlers (including my own) will be safe from my dangerous glass water bottle. It'll be in the hotel. I'd inset an eye roll if I weren't on mobile.

We also avoid plastic, for chemical reasons as well as well as taste. Unfortunately, the kids can't take glass bottles to school. We recently purchased Aladdin bottles that are a nice plastic version of our favorite (Lifefactor...like the one pictured) bottle. With the Aladdin bottle, the drink can be accessed through a smallish spout on the plastic lid, or the lid is easily removed to drink directly from the bottle (our preference). The bottle is hard plastic and does not give that plasticy taste to water. I still prefer our Lifefactor bottles, but these are great when glass is prohibited.
