Canned response that "my email will be forwarded..."

Started sending snail mail on Saturday-we will see if that gets any more of a a response.

Someone on the original thread mentioned that they were staying in an AKV studio right now. When they checked in, it was all disposable. Today was T&T and now they have glasses and mugs!

Was it a mistake or a result of the mail campaign?

I hope it was due to the email/mail campaign! I'm crossing my fingers! :wizard:

If the policy has been reversed, I still think that the DVC members should be notified one way or the other. Keeping us "in the dark" is not helping things. A simple post on our member website would suffice, even in response to all of the correspondence we have been sending.

Any type of response would be an improvement over nothing! :thumbsup2

Hello All! I posted this on the mail "fewer amenities" thread but thought I would post it here as well.

I received an email response from my guide today from the email that I sent last night! I copied/pasted the response below...my email from last night was too lengthy to copy/paste here but I think I did a pretty good job of communicating my point.

"As a member myself, I can relate to what your expressing.
You have done the right thing in communicating to Member Satisfaction. Initially you get an automated response. But, they will follow up with you.
I have made our management aware if your discontent.
We have designated DVCMEMBERSATISFACTIONTEAM@DISNEYVACTIONCLUB.COM to
handle these types of messages and they will be in touch with you.
Thank You for manifesting your concern."

Hey...this is more of a response than most people have received!
Let's see what happens

Ok. I just sent my 4th e-mail since March 9th. I've got nothing but the usual response from the previous 3.

So they will be in touch with me? When? I sent my Email 11 days ago, and so far I haven't received a response except a canned response saying that they would get back to me within 5 days. This member is not satisfied!

That's why I emailed my guide...to make it apparent that Member Satisfaction was not living up to their end of the bargain.

Let's see what happens over the next week-I don't expect much to happen over the holiday weekend...unless there is more "exchange the styrofoam for real glasses and ceramic mugs on trash/towel day" as was reported by one member at AKV.

Hello *****, Thank you for contacting Disney Vacation Club. We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us regarding the glassware changes in our studios. We continually review the cleaning practices in our resorts. Upon reviewing the dishware and glassware washing process for the studio units, we realized that hand washing wasn't sufficient to meet our cleanliness standards. Glassware and ceramic mugs in the studios were replaced with disposablesbecause dishwashing machines are not available in those units. We wanted to take action quickly and using disposables was the most expedient solution. We have since determined that we will be able to provide glassware and ceramic mugs at resorts where glass washing equipment is available. This includes Disney's Beach Club Villas, Disney's BoardWalk Villas, TheVillas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas and the Inn rooms at Disney's Vero Beach Resort. For all DVC stand-alone campus properties (Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Disney's Old Key West Resort, Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort and the villas at Disney's Vero Beach Resort) that do not have glass washers available, we will continue to utilize the disposable cupsuntil we can source a more environmentally friendly product. We are investigating the possibility of installing glass washers at specified locations throughout the stand-alone campus properties. The disposable cups are replenished upon request. If a Guest/Member calls to request glassware, we will provide it and remove it upon checkout. Your comments are important to us. Please be assured that we have shared your concerns with the appropriate individuals. Thank you again for your message. Sincerely, Disney Vacation Club

This takes a lot of pressure off me as I prepare to go to BCV at the end of April! I am really looking forward to that trip, I love BCV at Flower Show time, but I was thinking of the confrontation I would have to have, because I would not be happy with disposable things to drink from, especially the styrofoam cups.

I expect them to live up to their word, and I sure hope that there is more back and forth with members regarding what they want from their DVC vacations.

Wow, you mean there is actually somewhere there?
I was feeling like the offices at DVC were a ghost town.... the lack of response was even more disturbing than the styrofoam cups.

That definitely would have put a cloud over your vacation, having to deal with this issue. Glad it's resolved to some degree before your trip.

Allow me to translate:

We made a knee jerk reaction to ostensibly solve a problem.

We were then buried under the complaints regarding that "solution".

We've since realized what a BAD idea it was, on SOOOO many levels, and are now, in most cases, going back to the "old" way. And in the few cases we can't....we're scrambling to find a solution that won't tick quite so many of you off.

Sorry about that...MASSIVE brain fart.

Unfortunately this may add to the "bad taste" in many DVC members' mouths regarding recent trips/CM interactions.

Glad to see the decision was reversed, if only for some, and hopeful that it will be made the same for all in the near future. I am not a big fan of "tiered systems." At least we all have the same opportunity to ask for and use the nondisposables if we'd like.
