GKTW "I supported did you" pictures?

Hi all,
I have seen the I supported did you little smiling people in several people's signatures, and I know that someone here on the board makes them, but I didn't want to take one off of someone else's without asking the creator.

How can I get one of these? I ordered two shirts and just sent my check off in the mail today

I was wondering about them too... I remember seeing someone around the boards with illustrations similar to them, and the one of the podcast crew? (sorry that I can't remember the name to whoever does them)

I ordered one through DVCsince02 who's helping us folks who don't use USD and should get it soon, I can't wait!!!!!! XD

Actually they are not property of the DIS (and weren't officially given to the DIS for official use) - they are the artist's intellectual property, so taking it without permission is technically incorrect.

If you want to use on and need to contact the artist - please send a PM to DisneyM2M. She's happy to let folks have usage, but would like them to request permissions first, as this is her livelihood/business. Also, there is one that is personal copyright to her (of her personal likeness) so she doesn't want that one used.

Did you create it Melissa? I too thought it was just one of those things that was just out there - can I use it in my sig????

Hey Lois - she's not been getting on until really late due to tax season.

She did create it. She made the first one to celebrate and honor the event and then popped it into her sig on a thread. Then, all of a sudden it started showing up everywhere! When she commented, a couple folks asked if they could do ones specifically for them, and the others sent a bunch of "hate PMs" - telling her she should just get over herself and let folks use it, because it was for charity.

But then, she got hate mail for making her original drawing, too.... I don't know what people are thinking.... If I were an artist, I would be a bit befuddled, too.

I for one don't blame her one bit for asking that people ask her permission, art is art and it's personal property. That's exactly why there are copyright laws out there.

But I'm glad that Melissa created these and want to thank her very much for being so kind (even after a huge fiasco like that!) to keep creating them for people.
