I was just thinking about all the things that weren't around when I was a kid. Take caller ID. Guess how we knew who was on the phone? We picked it up and answered it. Remote for the TV? The kids were the remotes. The can opener was a silver thing with a handle that turned and the coffee pot was put on the stove. How did we survive?!

So, looking at the list, what one thing do you feel makes your life more complete? Being math challenged, I picked the calculator.

I think I use the remote control more than anything else on the list.

I couldn't live without a calculator. I add 2+2 and get 97.

hehe I remember being the remote control. Dad would do the motion and say "1-3" for channel 13. Too funny!

I picked caller ID, because the phone is perminantly attached to my left ear.

Electric Pencil Sharpener-never use it. I use mechanical pencils
Caller ID-can't live w/o this one
Electric Can Opener-eh, I can take or leave this one
Electric Coffee Maker-don't drink coffee, except for those fancy frozen coffee drinks
Calculator-don't use one that much, but it is right up there with caller ID
Weed Wacker-the DAY you see me use a weed wacker the sky will turn orange and crumble down on us all. I HATE them. I make someone else do it.
Electric toothbrush-really don't like these, I prefer the other kind
Digital Scale-stuck in the stoneage, and we don't have one
Remote Controls-we have waaaay too many.
Paper Shredder-I don't shread much paper.

I don't hardly ever use the other stuff. I don't know what I'd do without my remote, though!

cant survive without the remote controls...if i cant find the remote i always look around for it instead of getting up and switching the channels from the box lol

Now my DH and the kids.....couldn't live without the remote.

I work in payroll so I'm good with numbers, who cares who's calling answer it or let it ring, instant coffee (not as good but better than no remote), don't use pencils, weed whacker is good, but again not better than remote, no need for shredder, and who weighs themselves...lol


Now if you would have added TIVO.....That would have been my pick....but then again you can't run tivo without a remote

The only one of those things that I actually have is a calculator, so I picked that. I used to have a remote control for the tv, but I have no idea where it went. I guess it's been in remote control heaven for the past 6 months.

I feel like a luddite, but I don't have any of these:
Electric Pencil Sharpener
Caller ID
Electric Can Opener
Weed Wacker
Paper Shredder

... and we just got the Electric Coffee Maker last year when my DD started Kindergarten. She has to be at school by 7:40 AM and Mama needs her coffee in the morning and she can't wait for the water to boil to use the Chemex coffee maker.

I need a calculator and I like my remotes, my electric toothbrush and my digital scale. I could live without all but the calculator, LOL!

What about cordless phones? Or cell phones?

for me it was between the remote and caller ID, I don't use the phone a whole lot, but I hate answering it unless I know who it is, I almost never answer the home phone as there is no caller ID, so I picked caller ID
