For my speech class, I'm giving a 5 min. speech on why I love Disney World. I thought this would be easy, but I'm finding that I'm stuck on thinking of 3 good and interesting reasons why I love Disney World! I mean, theres the obvious, it's a great family vacation, the magic never dies, there's always something new to discover..... There is just something about it that I can't describe from the time your planning a disney vacation, till your on your trip back home, it just does something to you.... but I can't seem to discribe it in the right words!!!! Anyone have some ideas I can use for my 3 reasons I love Disney world?? :)

Thanks!!!!!!!!

Did you try looking into a little of Walt Disney's background and "his" reasons for building DisneyLand and Disney World? That may give you a good quote to start with. I always found once I got started the rest just kinda followed. Good luck.

What's wrong with those?

Great family vacation --- activities targeted at all age groups, many photo and souvenier opportunities, educational experience

Magic never dies --- seeing the castle, watching a young child's face light up when they see Mickey, stretches the imagination,

Something new to discover --- so many activities in different parks, new things being added all the time (i.e. Mission Space, Wishes), and how even the same activity seems different a year later.

I'd switch the magic never dies to first, great family vacation to middle, and something new to discover to last though.

Hope that helps!princess:

Yeah, those are good I guess, but I just can't seem to express just how great Disney is! It's like, when your there, your not even on earth. Your somewhere else where there is no crime, no sickness, no sadness, and everyone is happy all the time! For me it's like as soon as your driving and you see the purple signs with the mickey ears on them, it's like your somewhere else. Maybe I'll just discribe that too! But I put this is my speech outline:

1. it brings out the kid in you
2. every attraction is so unique
3. the Disney magic is everywhere and even follows you home.

Then from there I'll elaborate on each one of those.

Thanks for the suggestions!!!

Yep, sounds like a good intro to me. When your passionate about something its easy to speak. Depending on the style of speech you are doing, you could even discuss your difficulties in capturing DW into words.

This brings back memories of my Business Speech class. Informative speech. Give 3 points and describe them.

I'm a computer programmer, not an author (as is evidenced by reading below), but something in the following paragraphs may be useful. They touch on points 1. and 3.
---------

Who in the industrialized world has not heard of Walt Disney? If there's one thing the generations have in common, our grandparents, our parents and us, it's Walt Disney and the wonderful world he gave us.

Regardless of our age, seeing Mickey Mouse and Cinderella's castle stirs up images of childhood. Walking down Main Street, USA enacts a magical transformation. Our worries or concerns become distant memories. Suddenly, the innocent naivete of youth overtakes us. We delight in the simplest pleasures -- songs, rides, treats, meeting characters from the pages of fairytales -- pleasures that can be found no where else on earth but there.

Once so affected we long to stay. Upon our leaving we slowly recall those daily tasks that make us adults, but we never let go of the joys and delights we encountered. We long to return again and again.

I might say something like: It achieves the impossible. The sad are made happy, the nasty are made nice, the old young, the burdened carefree, the guilty innocent. There is a word for something which achieves the impossible. Some call it magic. I call it Disney World.

wow , you guys need to do the advertising for WDW it would make me want to go even more than i already do!!
::yes::

When we go to WDW, the world is left on the outside of those gates. We also have rules about not arguing or complaining-the weather is perfect, the food is wonderful, there are no lines at all and everything is reasonably priced. We REFUSE to see the bad, even if it's staring us in the face. You can only do this at Disney.

I would try watching the planning video for inspiration!
