What is the best way to give a Christmas gift (sold only in WDW stores) to a family member when we won't be back at the World until after Christmas? WDW gift certificate? Disney dollars? Other? Anybody know how to do this? Mmm. I don't want to do Ebay I think. Can't say what it is cause he reads the DIS. Sshhh. :rolleyes1

Thank you for your help!

Remember, you can also get pretty much all annual passes as a gift certificate too.

Even the water parks, Pleasure Island, and Disney Quest annual passes have Gift Certs ( annual pass date won't start until they day they exchange the Cert. )

If I'm understanding, you saw something at WDW that you want to buy as a gift. You won't be back, so you want to give them a way to purchase the item? Have you thought about calling Walt Disney merchandising and having them ship it to you? If not, I'd go with a gift card.

Thanks for the help everybody. Yes, we saw a specific item at the World last spring and it would go well w/planned Christmas items. However we didn't buy it when we were there and we are not returning until April. I think I'll go with either the gift card or the dis dollars. I bet I can buy them at my local mall Disney store.

Thanks! Peace, love, and all things Disney!

If you know the item, call Disney Merchandise and they will ship it too you. That's what the girl at one of the shops told DH to do with a watch I want for Christmas. LOL

I would go with Disney Dollars or a Gift Certificate if you can't find anything. That's what I'm telling everyone to get DS for Christmas an his bday!

I've found the best place to buy Disney Dollars is at my local Disney Store. Also, be sure if you get a gift certificate that you don't get it at the Disney Store. Those are for the Disney Store only.

The Disney Dollars can be spent at the parks? I would like to give our kids some for Christmas presents for our May trip.

Disney Dollars are just like using good 'ole cash - dollar for dollar, but are way cuter. They can be used in the theme parks, at the hotels, in the restaurants and Downtown Disney. It's a great way to save for vacation!

Thanks, I think it's a great gift for the kids, they get something exciting on Christmas day then they get something else at Disney when they cash them in.

i'm going in 2 weeks if you want me to try and pick it up for you.

I'd go with DD, those can be spent in WDW or TDS, just in case there's some left. :rotfl: :rotfl: Plus they are fun to have.

karentan, you are so kind to offer. Mmm. There are several versions of it. I wonder if I should let him pick (give DDollars for now) when we are there, or just choose myself and take you up on your offer and send you money. I will have to ponder this one. In any case, you are a true pixie dust spreader and I thank you.

Wouldn't Disney gift cards purchased in one of the mall stores be only good in the mall stores, or am I still confused about the Disney stores changing into Children's Place stores? Are the remaining Disney stores truly linked with the parks, etc? I agree that Disney dollars would be a very good option! :flower:

if you pm me i'll try my best to get it for you in a couple of weeks. i'm off on my wedding/honeymoons so happy to spread the magic for others too!
