I hated that! I would sleep, then OH, time for vitals! Fine, do that, back to sleep. Oh, breakfast time! Time to eat! Go back to sleep. Guess what, we need to do physical therepy now! I always fell back asleep after that, lol.
They gave me tons of meds, so I was sleeping 12+ hours a day. I felt so bad, I fell asleep on all of my visitors, including my best friend!![]()
Kayla, sorry for hijacking your thread!
Meg, don't worry I fell asleep on my BFF too. I was so doped up on drugs I couldn't stay awake for more than 1/2 hour.
My physical therapists in the hospital were bad tho. I kid you not, I could not even move my leg, and they wanted me to get up and wobble around the floor on a walker.

ETA:
From multiple experiences, the back of the hand is a pretty painful place to get an IV. I have at least two holes (one right on the bend between my wrist and my hand) and those IVs hurt so bad. I eventually asked them to put the IV in on the inner side of my hand, by the bone. That didn't hurt at all.i had an iv once, and they kept adjusting the needle, and then it was on the back bend of my wrist (OUCH) and i couldn't move my hand without shoveing it into a bone or something. that hurts SO bad.
no, i've never given blood, but i plan to this year.![]()
Also, hand IVs get infiltrated easily. My KR was a hand IV, and 3 nights later my IV got infiltrated. It blew up to the size of a balloon, and was in between extreme pain and numbness. It was bad.
