"Giving away" your daughter at her wedding

I agree, it is interesting! I really enjoy the fact that people put so much thought into what they chose for their wedding ceremonies. I truly think its a beautiful thing. :)

Maybe your views are a contributing factor in your DD's choice in how she is getting married.

I did nt say obey. I only said I would love and cherish DH all the days of my life. I also removed any reference to making babies.

Wow, pretty rude of you. Not to mention a pretty ignorant remark.

Eta. I'm smart enough to not rile "karma!"

My feelings exactly. I have a feeling that whomever reported that exchange was really only reporting me, but you got pulled under the bus with me.

Hahahaha! That is amusing primarily because I have spent a lot of time under busses lately!

Belonging indicates you're each other's property.... but regardless by your logic you are still HIS property (and vice versa as you pointed out)..

That's the point. It applies to both parties.

My issue is with the traditions that point to the groom being an independent person capable of making his own decisions, and the bride being a piece of property to be sold off. I promise you, had my husband said he wasn't going to wear a ring, but insisted that I do, he wouldn't be my husband.
