Giving a drawing to a character?

My DD has been somewhat uncertain about the idea of meeting characters, but recently decided that she would LOVE to meet Sophia the First IF she can give her a drawing of herself wearing her Sophia backpack. I'm not sure if she'll stick with this or any other plan (or if it'll multiply and she'll want to present every princess with a drawing), but is this something that's even possible? Should I be hedging and helping her forget about this plan, or encouraging? She will NOT want to give the drawing to the handler, and will be hurt if the princess doesn't keep her drawing (though the Princess giving it to the handler would, I'm guessing, be OK with her - just as long as she doesn't get the drawing back, since she would have made it as a gift). Clearly, if this would work at ALL, it would only work with face characters... but is this even something within the realm of possibility?

It will be great, and a great memory for your child.

DS brings a 'gift' to at least 1 of the characters at Hollywood & Vine meal every trip. The character (including Sofia) does take it, and makes a huge show of being thankful - its adorable - and poses with DS and the gift. Then the character will hand off the gift to the 'handler' (human) to 'keep it safe.' The handler will usually say something to that effect to the child (the character will usually hand it to the handler (or other CM if no handler around) with a pantomime of 'this very nice child gave me this; can you keep it safe for me."

They do a great job with gifts. Most of the time they pantomime thankfulness so well DS wants to bring more things the next trip. You are lucky with the drawing: easy to carry on the plane! Try fruit snacks... (considered gel substance, we learned the hard way!)

PS Forgot to mention that same result when we give a character not at a meal a gift. (I just realized that Sofia can be met outside Disney Jr. Concert hall, as well as H&V breakfast and lunch.) The characters are just wonderful and make it very fun. Heck I'd bring DD's backpack and have it autographed.

Just so you know Sophia is not a face character.

But yes, they love to get presents. It actually wouldn't surprise me if the cm kept some of them. It would make a good memory for them of their time at WDW. At least I think it would. ;)

That response was so full of helpful information. :) Thank you so much. She'll be thrilled. We'll have to consider taking her backpack on our MK day, too. I was thinking it would just me more to haul around, but we are springing for a double stroller rental so we should have the storage space, lol.

Tip about fruit snacks will be helpful, too, lol. :)

And ha, I've seen pictures of Sophia at WDW, just totally forgot for a moment that she's not a face character. I tend to lump all "human" characters into "face character" in my mind even though I know that's not the case.
