Give me your best guess please!

Hi all,

Trying to come up with an idea of how much money we may be spending on our upcoming trip. I'm going to be splurging a bit, with BBB reservations for both girls, dinners at BB and CCR, and character meals... but trying to save any pennies I can of course.
My family consists of DH, DD (5), DD (4), DS (1) & of course - Me
Joining us, MIL, and SIL x2.

We aren't huge portion eaters, I know we will be sharing more often than not in most instances, and I'm mostly open with where we are eating. I only made dinner reservations at BB & CCR. Character breakfast with Minnie & Friends, and lunch at AG, I'm not even working into the trip budget since they have already been paid for. Mostly, my confusion is based on BB and CCR. Because they are places I've never dined at (I have always wanted to eat at BB, and I've heard the mixed reviews, so this is more of a bucket list type of thing) and I know they are the higher priced restaurants in the parks; therefore, to not make my MIL and SIL's feel unsettled about their funds, I have invited them and will be picking up their bill at both locations. How much do you think my bill will be at BB? If anyone has a similar family size and wouldn't mind sharing their cost of the bill, I'd be grateful!

CCR, we are planning on lunch, and it is for preferred viewing of WOC.
5 adults, 2 kids... all ordering an entree and an appetizer or dessert... What's your best guess on the damage there? My DH isn't too stoked on this idea. So I guess once I find out the amount (or best guess) and let him know, we'll determine if we should cancel. If we do cancel, anyone have any tips on getting WOC FPs for the 2nd show?

I tried finding menus with full menus so I can best calculate drinks, desserts, appetizers, and entrees but I didn't have much luck.

Your best bet will be to click on the Dining tab on the top and look at the offerings at each restaurant in order to anticipate what your family may order. The prices are available as well, so you can have a ballpark about how much each meal will cost.

Thowing caution to the wind I would say $150 for BB and $210 for CCT with tax and tip!
Hope you can fit it in the budget, if not there is always next time.

Check out the menus on all ears! I was able to budget for food....all food in the parks with this!

We had lunch at BB...me DH, DD (12) and DS (8). Dh had the strip steak, DS had the adult portion of pasta and cheese sauce, DD and I shared the Monte Cristo with the split plate charge. We all shared a creme brule. The kids had the light up punches, DH and I had iced tea. $150 including tip. With 5 adults at dinner I would estimate $200 even when sharing meals with the split plate charge.

if you are going to character meals, do look into getting vouchers for that as vouchers include all taxes and gratuity. If you are going during the peak season, the vouchers will definitely help you to save about 10%.

DD (12) and I ate at Ariels Grotto last week. She is considered an adult. They add in the tip with the tax and it was just shy of $80.00 for the two of us. Food was good,but not great. The dessert was fantastic. The princesses just seemed to breeze by for a quick picture. Maybe because my DD wasn't little any more.

Aha! That makes more sense now! Didn't know/realize that there were separate character dining vouchers! Care to enlighten me on how one gets those??

The Character dining vouchers are part of the dining plan, or they can be purchased separately. I will use the adult example because I forget how much the childs voucher is worth. There are 2 types of character meal vouchers, premium and regular. Premium are $40, regular are $33. If used for a character meal, they include tax and tip. If you use these vouchers at CCT or BB, it would just be for the face value amount.
The vouchers are the same price during the year, but the fees for the meals increase/decrease depending on the time of year. In some instances, like high season using a premium character voucher for lunch (AG) or dinner (AG or GK), you could actually save $.
You can get the vouchers through Get Away Today, Ares Travel and Disney directly. They will be the same price regardless of where you purchase them.

DD and I did CCT for the WoC passes, we shared 1 appetizer (biscuits, which neither of us liked that much), we each had an entree (she had the $22 burger LOL) and we shared dessert, I also had a glass of wine and she had a soda. We spent about $100 after tax and tip. Remember, if you are doing the WoC dining you must each order and appetizer/entree or dessert/entree, these can be shared within your group but each person who needs a pass must order in the above combination. There's no way $210 will be enough for a party of your size.

At BB our group can easily spend $150-200, we rarely get desserts or appetizers at BB but we all get our own meal, we don't share.

Character meal vouchers can be purchased without buying a package, you can buy them through GAT. I'm sure you can get them elsewhere but we've never used them so I don't know for sure.

Thank you guys and gals for the insight from your experiences! I checked out allearsʻ menus and CCR will definitely be out for this trip. I used my best guess on what everyone would order, and calculated tax & tip and drinks for all 8 people, and I nearly had a heart attack.

BB is a must do/bucket list thing.

I booked my package with Disney, so I paid for the character meals(vouchers) when I booked, which is why I mentioned them not being included in my budget for the trip. Iʻm bringing $2,500, but Iʻm hoping at max I spend $1,000. Lord help me!

Ya, CCTR is not cheap, but we felt it was very much on par with Club 33 (which we had eaten at the day before) in terms of service and food. Club 33 was more exclusive (and it did feel that way) but CCTR was amazing!!
Enjoy your BB Bucket meal (LOL) and then put CCTR on the list for next trip.
