Give me the low down on Landry's select club

I have seen posted many times that you can make your birthday month whenever you want it to be...it doesn't have to be your actually birthday. So if you always go to Disney in September, but your birthday is in June, you can choose September. (Someone who said they work for Landry's confirmed this on another thread awhile back ago, but you could always ask when you purchase the card if this is okay).

We are going June 2015. I plan on buying a card for myself and a card for my DH. Both our birthdays are actually in June. We will eat at Yak n Yeti and T-Rex. Since there is no annual fee, I don't see a problem doing this even if we don't go back to Disney ever again.

(I will also use our Discover cashback money to get Landry's giftcards to cover the balance of the meals)

Ok, tell me if this would work.....(please:)) I buy a Landrys card now, and next december, when I'm at Disney, I have a credit in my acct. for 25.00, plus another 25.00 for a birthday month credit- then I effectively get 25.00 off of our meal,(I love Bubba Gumps) when we visit? And if I also have a gc for the balance, then dinner is paid for?
So it's 50.00 off dinner, but technically,it's 25.00 off,am I getting this right?

If you join the club now, you will pay $25 to join. You will get a $25 welcome credit on your account to use on your next visit.

You will get another $25 credit in your birthday month. This credit is a "use it or lose it" credit, meaning that if you don't use it by the deadline, it will expire.

The birthday credit and the welcome credit can be stacked for $50 off of your tab.

Do you get a "temporary" card to use right away if you sign up onine or do you have to wait for the official card to be mailed? I know it said your welcome reward will be applied within 24 hours of completing your registration, just not sure if you have to have the official card to complete it or not. :)
