EPCOT today and we are at the gates waiting at 8.45, first up Soarin’, then Nemo and Friends followed by Test Track – the weather is closing in fast and there are many announcement made saying inclement weather was close and the ride would not operate – thank goodness we were lucky. The rain held off until we reached Mexico and then the flood gates opened. It rained torrentially for at least 2 hours – maybe even more. For the fist hour or so we passed the time having lunch at Cantina de San Angel, but we were getting very wet even under the umbrellas and it showed no sign of stopping so we donned ponchos and started out tour of the world. By the time we reach France it has just about stopped so we grab a pastry and a drink before watching Off Kilter. We had to do Spaceship Earth before we left which we really liked – and even sent our pictures home.

We stopped at the Reebok store to get some trainers and then went to Sweet Tomatoes for our tea. We are really exhausted tonight and bed is calling before long.

Noteworthies:
Rain like I have never seen before

Cocktail count – 0

Friday 1st August
MGM today – oops sorry I mean Hollywood Studios. EMH so in at 8.00 after a quick breakfast at the food court.
First up is a Fastpass for the new Toystory Midway Mania. Even though we go straight there the return is from 10.00 - 11.00, still this means we can do other things so we head for the Backlot tour and get some great photos of Catastrophe Canyon. Next up is Voyage of the Little Mermaid followed by photos with Buzz and Woody before our Midway Mania experience. I had read very little about so wasn’t sure what to expect. Well DD & Me sat together and loved it, DH was sat behind and claims to not remember his score – hmm…..:rotfl: We didn’t score brilliantly but we loved trying. By now we were peckish and decided to have lunch at the ABC Commissary before going on the Great Movie Ride. We tried to catch High School Musical but 30 seconds after it started the rain came and it was called off. We wandered through the shops for a spot of retail therapy and as we couldn’t get the T-shirt DD wanted we headed over to DTD. It was still raining quite hard so the only thing to do was stop for a Ghirardelli’s Sundae.

When we get back to the room laundry and ironing are the first jobs :laundy: while DD takes arty shots of the room and hotel surrounding and gets food and drinks from the vending machine and food court. When the rain finally ceases we spend an absolutely blissful couple of hours by the pool. We stayed in this position until the sun went down. Now this will tell you the depths our laziness sunk to this holiday – we went out and got Taco Bell to bring back to the room for tea. I was so tired I could have slept standing up and it would be another early one tomorrow with Animal Kingdom.

Noteworthies:
The freedom DD had in roaming about the hotel, we felt very safe here and was at ease letting her go to the vending/ice machines on her own.

Cocktail count – still 0

The last time we went epcot they were saying that Off Kilter were no longing playing there, so good to hear you saw them.

Rain again :scared1: what a shame!!!!

We are looking forward to Toy Story, we are a bit disapointed about HSM finishing on September 13th as the new one starts October and we will sadly be back home:sad2:

Lovely report and thank you for posting. We saw more rain this year than we have had before which does call for a change in plans but you are in Orlando so who cares.:)

enjoying your report. Shame about the rain but at least you got to sunbathe by the pool at the end of the day.

Great couple of days, except for the rain, sounds like you didn't let it slow you down though. I am always surprised at how tired I am by the end of the day at Disney!
