Just checking back to see if anyone will be making a wish trip to give kids the world the week of sept 11?? It would be neat to meet someone from this group!

No, I am sorry, we go the week of Oct. 15th. Today I got our flight reservations from our Make-a-wish coordinator. We asked for an early flight on the way out and boy did we get it, we leave on a 6:30 am flight and it says transportation will come and get us 3 hours prior at 3:30am! That is fine, we get to Orlando at 9:00 in the morning so it gives us the whole day.

We leaving on Oct 16 we're staying at GKTW. Maybe we'll see you there. Amy

We leave on a 7:30 am flight on Oct. 22nd. Looks like we'll be up early based on the 3 hour beforehand pick up time.

Does anyone know anything about the hotel? Is there a link? Thanks!

To those going to GKTW to spend time with the special ones in your life ... may God bless you. You and that special someone deserve it, and earned it in spades. I've been there. The name Give Kids The World ... it's lived up to each day at that little piece of Heaven on Earth ... a place where noone is left out due to illness, mobility issues, or income.

To those thinking about spending every waking moment at "the parks" ... please reconsider and spend at least one full day at GKTW. That, my friends, is where you can experience "magic" that even Disney cannot match.

Take care and be well. I'll be praying for you.

I have a question for anyone that may be aboe to help. I have a special needs daughter that is non verbal. Will they still consider her for a "wish"? She is 4 and just learning to use 2 pics to choose what she wants. Not really sure how that works. Her PT had mentioned GTKW to us and whought about taking McKenna to WDW next year when she is 5. Any help would be appreciated!

I hadn't heard of this program until today. What a wonderful thing to do! I am a high school industrial tech teacher and my TSA [Technology Student Association] kids are always looking for service projects. When school starts, I'm going to introduce them to this program and see if we can raise some money for GKTW or buy some of the items on their "wishlist."

Huzzah for projects! :woohoo:
