Give Kids the World Village

Yes it is - they actually keep doing renovations and adding to it. We volunteer there each year whenever we go to DW. Our family loves to volunteer there.

I thought this amusement park no longer existed and was abandoned. Thank goodness., it is still around.

I never thought of it as an amusement park, as it has bungalows for the children and families to stay in, etc. More of a resort, and why did you think it was abandoned? It's funded quite nicely (for now, hopefully people will keep donating to keep it going, as it does not run on public funds, does it?) and has a plethora of volunteers.

We started volunteering at GKTW this past December. Wonderful place!

And while it does have a couple of cute rides, play areas, a small miniature golf course, and a zero entry pool it is, as Goddesstree notes, more of a resort. Most of the 79 acres goes to housing for the families. They recently opened a multistory building with additional 2 bedroom condos. And they just celebrated their 30th anniversary.

They survive with the help of volunteers so if you are in the area or just visiting, consider donating some of your time.
