we had to book a later arrival flight because of the big increase in price so we now arrive in Orlando at 1:50pm and check into the Doubletree at the universal entrance. my DD and her friend are planning on heading right over to Harry Potter while MH, me and our 4 year old are going to Seaworld.

is my DD going to be in line all day for Harry Potter? I'm deciding which ticket to buy for her.

We arrive on Saturday May 14th

I wouldn't say impossible but would say it's unlikely she will get to do much at WWoHP if the crowds are very high. It's probably going to be after 3pm once you get to the hotel. IOA is open until 9pm that night and that would be plenty of time to see the park but if the HP crowds are huge, it might be tough. It would be better to start off fresh in the morning since Universal doesn't offer any discounted tickets for half a day. In any event it's gonna be a challenge.
