Give a Day: Upgrade to FL Resident Season Pass?

I'm planning to use my GAD ticket early next week, as it expires on the 15th. I would like to upgrade it to a Florida Resident Season Pass- the one with the blackout days in the summer, around Christmas and Easter. Has anyone upgraded GAD to this pass successfully? Thanks!

It is not a problem. It can be done right at the Will-Call window when you redeem the voucher. Note that you must have Florida Resident ID to get that (or any other Florida Resident) pass. You can also use the voucher (or ticket) as the down payment if you are going to use the Monthly Payment Plan.

We did this a few weeks ago and like Cheshire Figment said it is super easy. Just mention it when you redeem your voucher and they'll do everything else.

When you do this, what is the total cost per person that you pay that day? For example, if I am using my GAD voucher, then upgrading to a Fl Resident Annual pass, am I paying the first months payment right then and there at the window? Since there are 5 of us, I am thinking it will be about $135 total give or take a bit, for all 5 of us to upgrade to the annual passes?

The down payment and the monthly payment are two separate items.

The down payment must be at least the value of a one day, one park, pass for each AP purchased. If you are upgrading from an existing pass, include a GAD pass, the value of that pass is the minimum down payment. (A GAD pass has the value of a one day, one park, pass even though it was free.) You can pay an additional down payment if you wish. The down payment can be a ticket, cash, Disney Gift Card, credit or debit card, traveler's cheque, hotel charge, or any other payment acceptable for thickets.

The monthly payments must be a credit card or debit card and the billing address must have a Florida Zip Code.

Take the total value of the pass(es) (including tax) you are purchasing, subtract the down payment made, and divide the result by 12. That will be your monthly payment. The 12th payment may vary due to rounding.

The first installment of the 12 will be processed within one business day of the date of purchase. The other 11 at one-month intervals. This means the passes will be fully paid for by the start of month #12.

Thanks for the reply, I think I understand! That was a lot of numbers for me. (sadly math is not my best subject). I guess I used the wrong word.
We are turning in our GAD vouchers, and from there, I am going to buy the Florida Resident Annual Pass.
However, I think I got it. Our GAD counts for the down payment, and then within one business day, the first of the 12 month installments comes out.
Obviously, each month after that, the payment will be taken out.
In any event, we are headed to the World tomorrow, and are very excited, hope for no rain
