Give A Day Tix - Possible to upgrade to ONE DAY PARK HOPPER?

We only have one day at the parks. Is it possible to update to a one day park hopper since the vouchers are only for one park, one day?

I know you can upgrade to a multi-day hopper, but haven't seen anything about single day.

Yes.

The GAD ticket is essentially a 1-day base MYW ticket. The only real difference is that it must be used the day you receive it. After that, you can upgrade it just like a MYW ticket.

You will probably have to redeem for the ticket and then use it first, and then add the Park Hopper option any time later, like when you reach the second park.

Just to add - it will cost $55.38 including tax per ticket to add the hopper option.

There is no gift card option.

Aside from donating the ticket to a specified charity, you can get the Give A Day Fastpass or a souvenir mickey hat figurine with some trading pins.

Actually you are mixing up tax and no-tax amounts. Let's leave tax out - you only pay tax on the amount out of pocket you spend, so compute that at the end - it is much easier.

GAD tickets have an upgrade value of $79/68. So for you, $294.

7-day base MYW tickets: $234/201 - for you, $870.

Difference: $576

6.5% tax: $37.44

Total out of pocket: $613.44

I agree with doconeill's calculations.

As far as using gift cards, this could be a problem. It depends on how much money is on the gift cards. It may be necessary to break the upgrades into multiple transactions. In the ticketing system computer each different credit, debit, or gift card is considered a separate payment. A transaction can only have three payments so using three gift cards will use up all the payment capacity of the transaction. So if the gift cards are in small amounts this may be impossible.

However, if you are staying at a Disney Resort you can put the tickets on your hotel charge account and then use the gift cards to pay the hotel bill. At the hotel each gift card is a separate transaction, but you can have unlimited payments to the charge account.
