I just posted the following on one of the non-DVC boards, but would love to get you all's insight if you have had experience with this:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Everyone -- My husband and I participated in the Disney Give A Day, Get a Day volunteer program. Has anyone used their free ticket when purchasing an Annual Pass? We want to purchase an Annual Pass when we go to Disney next week and just wanted to determine if we could apply the "value" of the free ticket towards our purchase? If they do allow you to do this, what is considered the "value" of this ticket? Is it just a normal 1 day Magic Your Way Pass?

Thanks everyone!!

The voucher from this program must be redeemed by 12/15/2010.

It will be worth whatever a 1 day pass is worth when you redeem it.
Right now that is $79 plus tax for a 1 day adult ticket.

You will need to
a) redeem voucher for ticket
b) use ticket on same day that voucher is redeemed
c) upgrade that 'free' ticket (worth $79) to an annual pass (DVC AP $389 - GAD $79)
d) enjoy your annual pass.

Hi... we're at the mouse now...and got our annual passes yesterday. We went to guest services (at international gateway to epcot) and gave them our GAD voucher. The amount of our pass was credited to about $84.00 (79 plus tax). After the DVC discount, One annual pass comes to $330.15. We purchased 2, so our total came to $660.30.
Hope this helps :thumbsup2

I can't wait, between the GADGAD voucher and the DVC discount this familyof four will be saving a nice chunck of change! :cool1:

Thanks for the info. This is were we always do our pass transactions too. My DH's AP expires in April and he also has a GAD ticket, so it will be nice to do it all in one transaction. It will be nice paying less than $300 this year.

Between the DVC discount, renewal price and the GAD promotions which can be applied to our pass renewals, it makes no sense not to renew at $282.36 each (less than a 5 day PH!). Oh, I almost forgot to toss in the 3 month extension on top of all this.

(Ignore (I'm wrong on this & the values can't be used toward GCs (thanks sammy!)): Now if only I can talk the kids into letting me apply the GAD values to their APs and go without the giftcards as their spending money.)

I didn't think the GADs could be applied to gift cards.....?

If my AP doesn't expire till January 2011 (yes, I just got it last month, lol) am I able to use the GAD discount on my renewal?
Also, since I won't be in WDW in December would I be able to renew over the phone using my GAD discount? Thank you for any advice you can give.

Ah - you are right! I was thinking of the B'day promotion. Looks like Mom gets the value then :goodvibes

(edited my first post so as not to confuse others)

Since the GAD vouchers must be redeemed onsite you won't be able to use them on a renewal over the phone.

I don't know the answer to the second part of your question which I read as: How far in advance can you renew the AP before its expiration?

I just want to be sure I understand, if I am at WDW 12/3/2010 and I bring my voucher, I can apply it toward my DVC discounter premium annual pass purchase that will be valid 12/3/2010-12/3/2011, correct?

Yes, that is correct. We will be doing the same this summer. The rules just say that you have to use the GAD ticket first and then upgrade it. Although some people have been able to do the upgrade without using it first. I figure I'll give it a shot and ask, if they won't do it then I'll just upgrade to DVC-AP's as we leave the park that day.

Do you know if you can use your vouches towards vouchers for AP's.
We will be there in July and our AP's expire in October.
Not sure how this would work out

A friend of mine is considering using her's to upgrade from a Fl Resident Seasonal to an annual. Does anyone know if this is possible as well? I told her I thought it was.. but not 100% sure
