I am not sure I am following this right, but I printed my vouchers the day they were emailed to me. I didn't have to put in a date that I wanted to use them. The vouchers do not specify any date of usage, just black out dates.
I read this thread and after a few pages of wondering why y'all weren't getting slammed about making comments about not getting in on the promotion, I saw that it was begun on another board. You even mentioned not to voice these opinions on the Budget board because you would get flamed. Then the mod moved it to the BB and the very next post is slamming everyone for being disappointed! You were right!
I personally would agree that how this promotion has turned out has to be disappointing to some folks. And I would be willing to bet money that those who are flaming them for voicing their disappointments have gotten their tickets. I would be disappointed if I hadn't jumped in on this early enough to get my tickets. I already volunteer at the school every week, so I don't feel one bit guilty about taking advantage of free tickets by volunteering at one of the listed organizations. And actually, they weren't free to me, the 20 gift baskets we made for Meals on Wheels recipients cost us about $75, so we definitely cannot do this again. If someone wants to find a way to flame me for this, have at it.
You'd lose that bet. my volunteer site was not a participate and I wasn't going to "faux" volunteer just to get a ticket voucher. It's interesting because I just read an article from a shelter saying that 1/2 of the so called volunteers have not been showing up since Disney reached the end of it's campaign.
So I wonder how much "good" the campaign it really did for any one but Disney because of course they will get the publicity plus the revenue of people who visit the parks.
I don't think (or at least I hope I didn't) I flamed anyone but I don't and still can't understand the whining about an end of a promotion. almost every forum on this site has a " I didn't get my free ticket, shame on Disney for ending it without telling me in time" thread.
It was a promotion, nothing more. Disney is no different than a department store they run sales to lure you in. Promotions have start and end times. Free dining does not work for every one. if you can take advantage of it great, if you can't that's life.
Disney does not "owe" any one free dining, pin codes, discount or a fast pass from the prize patrol.
I would love to see what happens if for one year Disney doesn't give out any thing. You get exactly what you pay for, a great vacation.
You were right!
