Happy Saturday, everyone! Happy Birthday, Jessica!

I need some tips from those of you with kiddos. A friend of mine is taking her boys to DL in October. The boys are 1st and 3rd grade. The oldest has been once before, but it's been 3 or 4 years. The youngest has never been. They are NOT telling the boys WHERE They are going until sometime on the way there (they are driving from St. George UT). I wanted to send a little car care package for each of the boys. Any suggestions for what I can include? I was going to include some snacks, and I'm thinking of sending some trading pins, but I need to get a couple of lanyards - I don't think I have 2 spare ones here that I would part with. LOL They are not doing the Halloween party. I'm open to all ideas! Thanks!

My kids love having glow sticks when we go. Disney temporary tattoos are fun.
I always print out a few mazes and simple word searches for my kids and always a sheet of tic tac toe grids.

Lisa, How about some of those little coloring books that have puzzles, mazes, color by number and so on. Add some nice screw up crayons or makers. Another idea is "Color Wonder" from Crayola. They have lots of Disney themed stuff. For boys you can't go wrong with Toy Story or Cars.

A few years ago, I found some of those funny magnetic faces with iron specks. The kind you can make beards and mustaches with a magnet. Clean and funny. Maybe you can find something like that.

When my grandsons go to DL, they usually are more into light sabors, swords, Car and Toy Story stuff, hats, stuffed characters....

Oooh, how about Mr. Potato Head for the drive. He comes in all kinds of themes.

I will keep my thinking cap on.

Ooooo.. I like the Potato Head idea..... The boys like Toy Story, Cars and Nemo for movies and also like Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Chip & Dale.

Glow sticks! Great! I have some of those here and they are going to see WOC. Perfect!

Where do you print out the puzzles? I know there are probably a bunch of sites.....

Good times

!!!! (thanks for the smiley Lisa)

Now those are three of the BEST emoticons I have ever seen!!!!

Bridgette - It was great to finally meet you! We e-mail so often, I forgot that we hadn't actually met yet.

Me too - we email so much I felt like I already knew you!!

The other resort I really want to go to, is the Grand Wailea in Maui, and that is just as expensive! :scared1: It is supposed to have the most elaborate swimming area in the world! It has seven lava water slides, six water falls, a Tarzan Rope swing, lazy river, swim up bar and the only water elevator in the world. The pics look so cool!!

Grand Wailea is one of my favorite resorts!! We went in November after 9/11 and since they had had so many cancellations, we got upgraded to an incredible ocean view room. Connor was six and had soooo much fun on all the water stuff!

Sitting here waiting for some friends coming for dinner who are an hour late! Ugh!! And it isn't the first time! But, we always have a great time together!

I have some wonderful news - somehow after dreaming about it for years, I will have the opportunity to go to Club 33 TWICE in one month!! I am still in a little shock - once would have been plenty but I am not turning down any chances! I can't wait!!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Well, I had some tips but reading further it looks like Mel hit them all. The Crayola Wonder markers and books are great because they don't mark except on the book or special paper. It seems like my friend's boys always love new Hot Wheels too. I think they have some new ones out to for Cars 2. What a fun and sweet thing for you to do.

I had already thought of that too.

Ran into walmart today and they have started putting out some of the Halloween stuff! I could SMELL THE CANDY CORN! Mmmmmmm..... candy corn..... mmmmmm... Kraft Caramels.......

Just got back from Walmart and it took all my strength to keep on pushing my cart past the candy corn. I can eat the whole bag myself.

I love those emoticons too. I've got to figure out how to get some. How exciting for you to get to go to Club 33. It will be a great time!

Ooooo... Cars Hot Wheels! Great idea! Thanks, Jodi!

Club 33.... swoon.... I can only dream. I have no connections. *sigh*

:cool1: How awesome Bridget!!! It's my dream too, but I don't know anyone other than people at karaoke & the Divas....so my chances are probably really slim......... :sad2: Enjoy both of your visits & make sure to take pics for us lurkers!!! :upsidedow

Thanx Jodi!! We actually went down to just a regular band-aid today.....she's extremely lucky to walk away from that accident with just a cut finger.

Oh my gosh I am so behind. I just had to do a quick once over to kind of catch up. Seen a trip to Hawaii? Yes all those extras at the hotels there are killer. The parking really can break the bank huh?

I seen the talk about gifts for the kids and doing them separate is a good one. A new little gift makes it so much fun. My grandson loves the potato heads and toy story toys. Looks like you got lots of good ideas.

I have to share we almost had a major emergency here tonight. My grandson lost his Eeyore. It's a beanie size and he got it from our trip to WDW Dec 09. He sleeps with it every night. He has been better about not having it all the time during the day now though, but sleeping with out wasn't something we wanted to try tonight.;) So when he went to bed and nobody could find it we asked him where it was. I swear it sounded like he said Walmart and we go bye bye. So our first thought was on no he left it here earlier. We called several times to get no answer. So my DD drove off to go find it. After 30 min or more my DH was still searching the whole house. He happened to stick his hand in between the cushions of the couch and there it was. Oh boy I don't know who was more happy Tristen or us adults. :dance3: I can't even find another one to replace it. I think the one that is dressed up with deer antlers looks kind of like it but we don't want that one. So if it happens next time he will have to be a big boy and go with out it.

I may have an Eeyore beanie in my donation bag. I used to collect Beanies which, of course, extended to Disney beanies as well. I bagged them all up a year ago and take a small bag every once in a while to the fire station or the children's home..... I'll look and see if I have any Eeyores in there. It may not be the SAME, but hey, even Eeyore has to change clothes, right?

Hello, everyone!! :)
Hope you all had a good weekend. It's gone fast. I don't think I'll ever get used to how quickly Sunday night can sneak up.

And I got something today for my Halloween exchange package.....
Cool!! I saw some awesome things today in Michaels. It was fun looking at everything.
Speaking of which, the sign-ups will close tomorrow morning, so if anyone is waiting to sign up, you're almost out of time!

That's awesome!! I'm so happy for you. I would be horribly jealous, but thanks to Heather/LittleBlackRaincloud, I had the chance to go on one of the Diva trips. It was amazing, and I know you will love it!

Candy corn is one of the few Halloween treats that don't tempt me. :confused3 I don't really like them at all. I only use them for decorations for cupcakes and such. But if you bring Reese's peanut butter pumpkins anywhere near me, they will disappear. Fast. ;)

I hate the parking fees that are becoming common at so many hotels. If I'm already paying a small fortune to stay at your hotel why are you charging me $25-$35 a night to park?? Just a pet peeve of mine.

Glad the Eeyore was found safe and sound!

Beth - Can you please add me and mom (Sharon) to the front page for Feb 23-27. Don't know where we're staying yet, but I'll let you know when I know! Thank you very much! :goodvibes

Oooh, with pleasure!! :cool1: I'm so glad you'll be there and bringing your mom! That's great. And, this means you'll get to be in the mother/daughter photo. :goodvibes

Oh, and you should stay at the Carousel and slum it with me!! LOL

Trish and I are staying at the Carousel as well. I booked the room last week!

Can you put me down for Friday to Sunday for the trip? I am so behind in this planning, but I will be going. Still have everything to figure out, but I'll do it!

Thanks,
Jen

Bridget, I kept trying to 'like' your post about being able to go to Club 33 twice in one month. Woo Hoo! You go girl. Hope you have a blast.

Good morning, ladies!!

I saw on Facebook that yesterday's mini meet went great!! Lots of you there including husbands and kids! How fun! I just love seeing all the mini meets and great friendships that have formed from these annual DL trips. :goodvibes
I only wish I lived closer so I was able to see everyone more often. :(

Hope everyone has a good start to their week!

As long as you'll be there Jen, that's all that matters.

:rotfl: I do that, too. My brain is used to being in Facebook mode, I guess.

:yay::yay::yay:

I'm so excited that you both are coming!!!

I had a swell day yesterday at the mini meet. Laila was a little out of sorts yesterday. She was being very quite and shy. When we got in the car to leave, I asked her why she was being so quite?? She replied "Um, I don't know? I think I don't feel good, but maybe I'm just tired. Yes, I'm sleepy, can we go home and watch Bambi?" I swear she is beyond her years sometimes.

Happy Monday, Divas!

Well, Monday, anyway..... I've already run and unloaded the dishwasher and the second load of laundry for the day is in the wash. Whee. What a fabulously EXCITING life it is here! *snort*

Happy Monday!!

Except that it's my Sunday, lol. Going to clean out my mom's car again and hopefully work on my TR so I wont fall behind when I leave again in a few weeks.
