Just stopping in to say hi!
Wow, I think this is one of the first times where I've been away for a day and come back to the same page on this thread! Usually I'll come back and have to read 5 or 6 pages of chatting that I've missed. Where is everybody? Shopping? Recovering from their turkey hangover? ;)

I got in line at 2 am this morning and didn't get home until 330 pm. I fell asleep for about an hour and then woke up in time to make dinner and get the kids ready for bed. I am so ready for a vacation now. I am looking forward to our family trip next month and the girls only trip in April.

Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving and a good shopping day today (for those that ventured out and those who shopped online...I may do that next year).

Hi Ashley, I think everyone is probably recovering! I know I am....

I recovering from my "spent all day in the kitchen cooking Thanksgiving dinner and then cleaning up afterwards" hangover, my "I drank a few too many beers last night" hangover, and my "had to lay carpet and move furniture back into my kids' room" hangover!:thumbsup2

I don't know what hurts more.....my knees from laying carpet, or my feet from standing in the kitchen all day yesterday. Of course my extemely sore knees and feet would explain the need for beer last night.:rotfl:
LOL That's too funny Capri. I bet your glad the rooms are done now though!! :thumbsup2

Hi Steph, I am ready for vacation too!! I really want to go somewhere. Anywhere..... :rotfl:

I hope everyone had a nice holiday and if you went out today, I hope you found lots of deals! Enjoy your week-end everyone!!

Hi all! Sorry I haven't been around. Life has gotten really busy, new job has me working almost around the clock!
We had to go out and buy a new tree (we do artificial) as when we moved out here, somehow our tree stand got lost. But, the cool thing is that we got a 9 foot one! I'm so excited. Did I tell anyone that my tree is about 98% Disney? For years it was all Disney, and then the kids started receiving ornaments from grandparents for Christmas and we got ornaments that the kids made, so that makes up about 2%. Anyway, we got the tree up and the lights on and it looks so pretty.
I'm making plans right now for our family to go to Knotts Berry Farm during their Toys for Tots drive. You bring in a $10 toy and get in free. My kids really enjoyed themselves when we went in September, so I thought it was worth it. We spend that on Toys for Tots every year anyway. We're going 12/9. They're doing it the weekends of 12/1, 12/8 & 12/15.
Well, I'm back to the grind. Talk to you all later.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I am avoiding doing laundry. Its still in a pile on the couch, just waiting to be folded. I need to pack. We are going to DL next weekend. Its our kiddos big Christmas present.

I had to work Black Friday- it was crazy.

Hello everyone! It's the week-end!!

Michelle, sorry to hear you've had to be working so hard. I bet you're exhausted! But that's nice you got the tree up! I'd love to see a pic with all the Disney on it! Sounds really nice. :goodvibes
Enjoy your day at Knott's!!

Lisa, I hate folding laundry. Washing it isn't the problem, folding and putting it all away is. I usually avoid it too...... especially socks! I hate matching them up! :rotfl2:
That's so cool you'll be at DL before too long!! How fun! What a great present. We're going too, but not until later on in December. I can't wait!

Have a great day everyone! Talk to ya later. :)

Hello ladies :wave2:

I'm back from our WDW vacation and we had a good time. The good thing is I don't have much laundry, since we had a washer/dryer in our room at the Boardwalk Villas. It made it easy just to throw in a load and leave to the parks. Also the weather was perfect!

I see most are leaning toward CCI for the hotel. I'm not too picky on where I stay, but since I'll only be there for 2-nights (Fri & Sat night), I may have trouble finding a roommate.

Hope I didn't miss too much action. I'll talk to you all later :thumbsup2 .

;) ,
Katie

Wow! You are a busy lady! Laying carpet can't be an easy job. Hope you got some rest and relaxation this weekend!:goodvibes

Hi Katie! Welcome back. :)

Glad to hear you don't have too much laundry. I always hate that part of returning home.
I don't think you missed much other then the info about the hotels.

I was looking at the schedule of the convention center, and noticed that there's a bridal expo on the 26th. There's a small part of my brain that sometimes thinks it's still planning our wedding (mainly b/c I planned DH's dream wedding, not mine, so I still feel like there's more to do), and that part of my brain got all twitterpated. :rotfl:

Then on the 27th it's the Anaheim Police Association Benefit Show.

for some reason that combo makes me giggle.

I really was EXTREMELY busy on Weds and Thurs, and let me tell ya, laying carpet is tough on the knees (and for some reason it hurt my butt muscles too), but since Friday I've been relaxing and taking it easy. I've watched some movies, cooked a few easy meals, and maybe did two loads of laundry. Not bad for the last three days.:goodvibes

Monday is almost here though, so it's soon back to the everyday SAHM grind.

Have a great night!

Ugh, I hear ya. Although I am glad school is starting up again. It was nice having everyone home, but I'm ready for a break. :rotfl2:

It was a nice week-end though. Saturday the girls and I went to see Enchanted, and we all loved it!!
DH took DS to see Beowulf, which they said was good too.

Then today the two guys went to an auto show while the girls and I started in on the Christmas decorations. It took all day but finally we are done. And this year we have two trees.

A "kids" tree in the tv room with colored lights and all their Disney and Hallmark ornaments.
And another larger tree in the living room with white lights and gold decorations I bought on clearance after last Christmas.

They kept asking me how Santa would know which tree to put it under. :rotfl:

Anyways, I hope everyone had a good week-end!

Well today I finally decided to come out of my coma.

My Thanksgiving was TERRIBLE!! I ended up with food poisoning and have been really, really sick since Thursday night. Friday I slept probably close to 16 hours maybe more. I finally got to eat something close to real food! It was terrible.

Worse I was supposed to be vending an event but instead I am out the booth rental and sales :( But today I am feeling much better and don't have to work till Tuesday so at least I get one more day to relax and recoop. I need a Disney Day BAD!!

OMG Heather, I'm so sorry that happened. And it sucks about your event too. :sad2:

I'm glad to hear you are feeling better now though. Thankfully it didn't last any longer then it did. Get some more rest tomorrow while you can. :)

That sucks :headache: . Especially about loosing out on your booth rental. I hate food poisoning, it's one of the worst things to go through.

I'm glad your starting to feel better :thumbsup2

Good morning ladies! Cyber Monday..... anyone doing any online shopping? :surfweb:

Well, I still have not heard from the manager or anyone at CCI about group rates. No return email or phone call. Hopefully the rest of their customer service is better then this. I haven't heard any negative reports about it, so I'm really surprised it's taking this long. :confused3

I really do think that we won't qualify for a group rate anyways. We have too many coming in on different dates, and it would only make sense that to get a group rate, you'd all have to arrive and depart as a group.
But I could be wrong.

Anyways, I can't remember if I asked this before or not, but do many of you have AAA? Because if you do, you can use that to get a decent discount. That's what I did.

Anyone else make any reservations? Just wondering....

I have a AAA, but I'm not sure where I'll be staying yet. Alot of times if I don't stay onsite, I just get a room through Priceline for about $50 plus tax for a 3* hotel. The majority of the time I get the Hyatt Regancy, but have also gotten Crowne Plaza, Sheraton & Hilton (all have shuttles to the park). I've always wanted to try the CCI, but it's usually more cost effective for me to Priceline a hotel.

Since I won't be there the full time it might be hard to find a roommate to split the cost. I may also just stay onsite since I have extra DVC points to use up.

I'll be making up my mind my the end of the year though.

Pretty much the same for me. I've been very successful using Priceline. The only thing is that you don't know if the hotel has a "resort fee" which adds to the price. But still better than others.

Not sure about how many days I'll be there, but I'm shooting for all 5!! And I have an AP with parking so that won't be an issue. I would much rather drive myself then wait for a shuttle!!

Important info about Candy Cane Inn

Hello ladies!!

OKay, I just received a phone call from the Candy Cane Inn. Nick, the front desk manager contacted me. He was very nice and answered all my questions.

Soooo, here we go.......

It is supposed to be 15 rooms for a group rate BUT he said if we are close to that (not sure exactly what close is, maybe 13 or more) then he'd still give us the group rate.

The group rate is $104 a night plus tax and that's for each the night, including Friday and Saturday which are typically higher.

(AAA was $102 on Thurs, $113 on Fri, $113 on Sat, and $102 on Mon.)

We do NOT all have to be arriving or departing on the same dates. So if some ladies will be there Thurs-Mon, and some are only there Fri-Sun, he said that's ok.

Also if between now and then we have some cancel and we drop below the 15 rooms, he said he'd still let us keep the group rate.

Finally, another nice thing is that we can all make payment arrangements seperately. What he'll do is block off a section of rooms for us, and then we can either fax or email him with the reservations info, and either send a check or give a credit card which ever each individual prefers to do.

So bottom line is it sounds pretty good. He seemed really willing to work with us. Now I guess we just need to know how many rooms we are looking at. :confused3 If you read this and it sounds good to you, and you'd like to try the CCI, let me know, either here or in a PM so I can figure out if we are anywhere close to having the 15 rooms.

THANKS!!! :thumbsup2

All 5? That's great! Think how much more fun it would be all hanging out at the pool, chatting, drinking......:rolleyes1

I'm a bad influence. I know. ;)

Count me in for CCI. Not sure how many days I'll be there. Would love to share a room, but won't know more info. until later. I'll call and reserve just as soon as Beth lets us know what our group name is, etc. I know I'll be there Friday and Sat. and either Thurs. or Sun., if not all the days. It will depend upon how much time off work I can take.
