Hi girls! Just got back from DL. Dd danced there this weekend and had a blast. We also saw Hannah Montana on Friday night here in Phoenix. We had so much fun I'm seriously thinking of writing a TR for both but I've never done one!

I'll have to catch up on all the chatting tomorrow as my eyes are drooping!

Hope you all had a great weekend!
Hi Shawna! Wow sounds like you all had a great time!!

I'd never done a TR before either but I did one for our last DL trip and I just yakked away and posted a few pics. LOL It's still up on the DL TR board.

I hope you decide to do one!! I'd LOVE to read all about it!! :yay:

Beth I started reading yours! It was great! Yeah I figure I can talk anyones head off so it might be a little rambly (is that a word???) but who cares. We had a GREAT weekend!

Well, I'm off to bed now! Goodnight til tomorrow!

My kids are still up since there isn't any school tomorrow and they are watching Nightmare Before Christmas. I am going to have this song in my head for days now...... :rotfl2:

Boys and girls of every age
Wouldn't you like to see something strange?

Come with us and you will see
This, our town of Halloween

This is Halloween, this is Halloween
Pumpkins scream in the dead of night

This is Halloween, everybody make a scene
Trick or treat till the neighbors gonna die of fright
It's our town, everybody scream
In this town of Halloween
:cool1:

Sounds like so far HOB and Goofy's Kitchen is a go!!!

(But if there are some who don't want to do HOB, we can split into two or more groups and meet later for drinks or dessert or whatever. We can make it work.)

:dance3: :cheer2:
Yay! I LOVE Goofy's Kitchen!

Me too!!! Ummmm.... I mean the kids love it.:rolleyes1
Last time I was there, I met my "boyfriend" Captain Hook. He liked me because I was wearing a Cruella DeVil shirt. I said something about liking all the Disney villians and he started stroking his mustache!
It was love at first sight....

I love NBC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It looks like we are going back one more time to see it in 3-D before it leaves El Capitan to take some one who has never seen it :scared1: We already went to the opening night for the panel it was amazing!

I love El Capitan!!!!!!!!!!!!

:dance3: :cheer2:
Yay! I LOVE Goofy's Kitchen!
Good! I've been once but it was so long ago! I barely remember it. I was pregnant with my first kid who is now almost 13. LOL I think the cost was around somewhere between $12-$14, and DH and I thought that was alot of money. :rotfl:

It was either on or around Halloween and DL was having a promotion along with KIIS FM. If you wore a costume and showed up between certain hours, you got in either for free or really cheap, can't remember.

Anyways, it was PACKED!!! We walked around for awhile and decided to get the heck out of there. That's how we ended up walking to the hotel and having breakfast.

Funny how things have changed. :rotfl:

Me too!!! Ummmm.... I mean the kids love it.:rolleyes1
Surrrrrre.......;)

It sounds like it will be a fun place for our group!

Hi Heather.

Oh my, I am such an idiot. For a split second, I'm thinking to myself...."Why does she love a tv channel so much??"

Duh. :headache: :rotfl2: Lack of sleep is clearly getting to me. lol

That's cool! How fun!! El Capitan is a great place to see it. :thumbsup2

:santa: Of course I am! I can't wait to put my tree up. I got a really cute ornament at Disneyland a couple weeks ago. Its a gingerbread Mickey head! It actually looks like a cookie too with fake frosting and sprinkles making up Mickey's face. Very cute.

That sounds really cute! Although I'd probably want to eat a cookie every time I saw it. ;)

Heather, I wanted to ask you something.

I know you were concerned about what to eat at HOB. It seems like a fair amount of ladies are interested in eating there, but of course we don't want anyone left out.
If a large group ends up there, is there something you can eat? Do you know if they will prepare a special dish? I can call if you'd like me too.

I was just wondering. If you'd really rather not eat there, maybe like I said, we can split into two groups that night and give people a choice of two DTD restaurants. Then meet up again after wards.

You tell me what you think would work best for you as far as HOB goes. :)

Oh, and btw, I saw on another thread a post from you about going to Bat Days. I had to Google it, lol, but it sounds like fun!! That's really cool. :thumbsup2

Is Nightmare Before Christmas OK for a 3.5 year old to see? He's both sensitive and brave, and you never know which one he'll be. :) He has seen Star Wars and loved it, wants to see it again, but his behaviour changed dramatically (fighting *everything* and months later he's still talking about a light saber to go along with his knight (prince philip) sword and his pirate sword and all the other swords and blasters this son of two pacifists creates from his simple Tinker Toys) and I banned it from his sight.

Anyway, is it OK? I'm sure hubby would say it's fine, but the point of the Star Wars mention was that his judgment is suspect sometimes...

He got spooked last year in the stretch room of HM (thanks to the adults screaming at nothing, sigh), but I'm sure the unfamiliar and spooky images from NBC didn't help. I don't want to have to go through the exit again (black-walled hallways turning twisting long and scary) b/c he was crying and I was almost crying by the time we got out, so I want him to see *something* familiar while we're in line and on the ride this December, so I can see the silly ride for the first time since I was something like 9! In '05 it wasn't open for Halloween yet, last year DS freaked out, and this year it was closed until our last day and then the lines were just crazy-long.

Be warned if I do NOT get to go on this ride next month, I'm going to take a full day of this April trip, if I can go, just to ride HM obsessively, to make up for FOUR trips to DL without riding it.:upsidedow

NBC is basically a musical about a Skeleton named Jack who lives in Halloween town a town that makes Halloween for us, Jack gets bored with his every day life and accidentally finds Christmas town and becomes obessed with the idea of Christmas. He decides to Kidnap Sandy Claws (his name for Santa) with the help of some "trick or treaters". Who send him to the bad guy Oogie Boogy. There also is Sally a rag doll who trys to get him to see that he should be happy with who he is and not trying to be some one else.

I am not a parent but I know many kids who loved this movie and some who hated the movie. Some of the images are very "halloween scary" but the music is light and fun and very catchy. There is also very little fighting, though Jack does have to stop the bug filled Oogie Boogie, he uses more of his skills and no hitting.

As to HM I always suggest taking kids when its the slowest, because adults and teens do like to scream in the dark in the elevator on the HM any time of year. But if the line is low you are less likely to experience that. Also maybe tell your DS that the adults are just being silly before you go on the ride and maybe encourage him to scream at this point as part of the "play" of the ride. It is part of the experience for many people. I also think in most cases that is the scariest part of the ride, after that almost every kid I know does just fine, since it is more of a "ride" then and there is no more dark or jumpies.

Hey Molly. Are you saying you haven't been on HM since you were 9??

As for NBC, I can tell you my kids have always been fine with things like that. But each kid is different and you'd probably know best.

I'd say try it. You're talking about watching it on DVD right? If so, then you can always turn it off if he doesn't like it. But I think if you make it fun and sing along, he should be ok.

I hope he does like it, because I think if he's seen the movie then he'll be more receptive to the ride. And you'll finally get to go on it! :thumbsup2

Oh and for the record, I love HM so I'm game for going on it as many times as you want in April. :yay:

First since I am only going to be there Thursday and Friday because of the Renaissance Faire I wouldn't worry about me. I also looked at their menu and it seems they added one new appetizer since I have been a veggie pizza here is the menu for those interested http://www.hob.com/venues/clubvenues/anaheim/dining.asp I do prefer Jazz Kitchen but am willing to go with the flow. I am not that high maintance :rotfl:

I agree with you about the songs and music. I think focusing on that is a good way to go. :thumbsup2

Molly, another thing would be to maybe get him some merchandise associated with the movie. A t-shirt or something. :confused3

And I have to confess, my DH and DS are two who love to scream as loud as they can when they go on that. :rolleyes1 But there are usually several who do, so I'd just make that fun too and tell him he can scream with the adults.
