Girls Trip #1 (check in daily for any plans being finalized or changes/updates)

I've been to CA once (this past April). I took all 3 of my kids by myself and we went to Ariel's Grotto for lunch. Other than that I haven't been anywhere there. There's not a whole lot that my kids were interested in there, they had more fun at the other park. I'm hoping to change that this December. Although the one thing I'd like to do is closed in December, the Mike and Sulley thing.

I almost CRIED when I saw that the Monsters Inc ride was going to be closed in Dec. My dd is not a big fan of DL... She is scared of most of the rides, I think she only likes 5 or 6 in both parks.. And Monsters Inc. Is one of them.

Aw, that's too bad about it being closed. How was the lunch at Ariel's Grotto? I'd love to go there but honestly, my kids aren't interested in the characters that much. They'd rather be out on the rides. I more into the Princesses then they are. LOL

Well, I hope in Dec. you are able to get on lots of rides! And if not, then we'll have to make sure you do in either April or May.

Wow, right over the holiday huh? Well, at least you know it's going to be busy and are prepared. I think it would be kind of fun to be there over a holiday but DH would not have the patience for those kind of crowds. LOL

We'll miss each other. I think our dates are basically going to be Dec. 14-17. That's the plan anyways.

Lunch at Ariel's is really nice. My two girls are princess crazy and there was no way I was doing the Princess Faire with all of the kids w/o my dh. I don't know if the hostess took pity on me or not, but we got the very first table where the characters visited. The food was hot and delivered promptly. We're going back in December.

We'll be at DL/CA from 19 Dec - 22 Dec. I know it's crazy (at least dh will be there this time) but I really want to see the Christmas decorations and it's a big surprise for my kids. They won't know we're going until the 19th after my oldest gets out of school, we're leaving right for there. I hope I can keep a secret that long, it's been so hard already...

Well, that's good to hear you enjoyed your lunch there. My older two are really over the characters, and now my twins (age 7) are starting to not be as interested in them either. It's so sad.

That's so cool it's a surprise for them!! How fun! Good luck keeping the secret. I know I'd be bursting at the seams to tell them. LOL But the surprise on their faces will be totally worth it.

Astro Orbiters... Buzz, the carousels, Dumbo, the bugs life area, the Jellyfish, and Monsters Inc. Notice a Pattern? She could see the Jellyfish from our room at the GCH, and she would sit at the window and say "Up, down... Up, down...." Yeah, dh and I were a bit sick from taking her on all the rides that go "Up, down..."

That's cool. We are all going in Dec, but at different times! LOL Oh well.

I'm not sure where we will be. Someplace off site. Whatevers cheap. I don't want to spend alot on a hotel because after we leave DL we are driving to visit family in the La Cresenta area and the Simi Valley area. So we'll have other things to spend money on, plus gifts.

Beth, where are you at? I am in Vegas too and obviously and AP holder!! I go quite a bit, I am sure we will cross paths one time!! Staley and I are good friends that have met IRL and I would love to go but the timeframe doesn't work for me either!! Can't go to DL without kids over one of the kids birthdays, that's just mean!!! right??? LOL!

BTW, I noticed your ticker!! We were supposed to be at the Grand I think the same time as your trip, December 12-15 or we might have overlapped. We had to change it to beginning of December because of my mom! (she's paying so I don't argue) but also because that means DD won't have to miss her Christmas musical at school so I am glad about that!

Staley, your 2 year old can ride Jellyfish? Wow! I've read that their measuring stick is taller than the other 40" measuring sticks. DS grew tall, fast, and now that his height has slowed down, we're having a hard time that he's not yet 40" at almost 3.5!
