Girls Trip #1 (check in daily for any plans being finalized or changes/updates)

Okay just another update on the dates.

April has 7 votes.
May has 8 votes.
And the "either date" option has 13.

So far May is pulling ahead. The poll closes Friday. I suppose I could have made it close sooner, but I know not everyone sees the DL boards or the DIS Meet boards all the time, and I wanted everyone to have a chance to vote. We are getting new people still and that's great!!

I hate to see May pull ahead!! (Because isn't it all about me?). I can come either, just will HAVE to leave Friday PM if May wins!! Looked at the schedule and groveling will do me NO good. Two other veterinarians I work with will be at a conference that weekend, so no getting out of Saturday.
Guess I will have to be extra hyper the two days I CAN go!!!!!!

I think I would answer to hobbitfeet, too. They are flat...but NOT hairy.

I have obnoxious big-toe hair that has plagued me since I injured one of 'em as a preteen, and the bandages pulled the hair out. Ever since then I, um, shave my big toes whenever I notice.

And calling my feet hobbit feet started in college, when a friend, co-worker, and fellow rower drew everyone's attention to them, by yelling "omg you have hobbit feet!" Can't be too mad at him...years later, he ended up getting me the job that caused me to meet DH.


I have to go check if I voted.

Bumbershoot........still don't have everyone's name in my head....I have a very very high maintainance friend who gets her toes waxed. Ow,,and how much hair does she have to choose waxing? !?????

How is everyone's day going so far? I'm off work today so I'm cleaning the apartment and having a "couch day." A couch day is where I sit and watch movies, DIS, and eat alot of candy/snacks.
I told myself that I MUST get the cleaning done before couch day starts, but looky here...I'm already DISing!

Aw, that sucks.
I know how hard it is to pick dates that work for everyone. But no matter what happens, or which ones win, I hope that everyone can find a way to make it work out at least for part of the time.

That's another reason I wanted to do the trip further out. To allow time to make work and child care arrangements.

Yikes!! Well, thank goodness I don't have to deal with toe hair! Although heaven knows as this body gets older there are more and more things falling apart that I am none to happy about.

Speaking of the names, I have a short list of who's given their name so far. I can get that together and post it so if anyone wants to, they can print it out.

Hi Ashley! I love the couch day idea. I think we all need a couch day now and then. I probably have too many couch days for my own good.....


Well, my DH works nights. He doesn't get home until around 2:30 a.m. and then he usually watches tv for a while to relax.
Now you know how some people love having the bed to themselves? Not me. I cannot sleep at all when he's at work, so my hours are pretty much go to bed around 2:30 and wake up with the kids to get them ready for school.

So much for beauty sleep. Anyways, he sleeps in until around 11 or 12, so in the mornings, I have to be quiet. I can wash some dishes, or do some laundry, but for the most part, I usually come and DIS so I don't wake him.

Then I'll get busy during the day doing what I need to do, cleaning, cooking, errands. And then once the homework's done, dinner's over, bath's are given, and the kids are in bed, I'm back DISing all night again. LOL

So that's pretty much my day.

You can never have too many couch days! I am convinced that a mixture of snacking, watching good movies, and cuddling under a soft blanket works miracles on the soul. Especially if those good movies include Johnny Depp.

If you could have a $10,000 shopping spree to one store, which store would it be and how long would it take you to spend the $10,000?I'd go to an appliance store, since we're getting ready to remodel the kitchen. It wouldn't take long If I was being 'selfish' and it was all about me, I'd go to Mary's Tack and Feed and buy a new saddle, custom boots, riding jacket, and various horse stuff. It would take a little while, but not super long to blow through $10,000. Horse stuff is expensive. (Okay, I'd probably throw in some things for my dogs too, they also sell dog food and accessories.)

3. If money were not an object, what would you do with your life?
Travel, and do a lot of gardening and maybe learn to cook.

I'm not really star struck.

By the Light of the Moon by Dean Koontz. I also liked his "Mr. Murder". I love to read, but I don't have time to sit and read a book, so I listen to books on my i-pod while I'm in the car.

I have no idea. It's such a matter of perspective. I guess you'd have to ask my friends, since I would never tell.

Italy. Italian Lit was my minor in college. Both my husband and I would like to go see Italy.
