The Muppet Show quickly became the hip place for a celeb to have a widely-seen cameo, and the diverse list of guest stars included Elton John, Peter Sellers, Rudolf Nureyev, Zero Mostel, Steve Martin and Alice Cooper.
That does sound cool.

Now that the Disneyland entertainment schedule is online - it is time to plan our VIP tour and arranged seating.

How does this look?

Preferred seating for Fireworks at 9:25 pm on Friday night
Preferred seating for Fantasmic at 10:30 pm on Friday night

Preferred seating for the Electrical Parade on Saturday night

This will work for anyone not purchasing park hopper tickets.

What does everyone think?

Do you want to do parade seating on Friday too?

Let me know. I also see that a few people are unsure about attending the weekend so I think that we will be fine with 2 tour guides and 20 VIP tour participants.
That all sounds good to me!! I'm easy though, and since I'm not 100% sure I'll be there, it's best if I just go with the flow now.

Yes, and we might have lost a few of the girls too that may be on the VIP tour list, like Daisy_77 (January), Zoemakes5 (Michelle), and I think even MommaU4 (Beth) is still iffy. It makes me so sad.:sad1:

I'm keeping my hopes up that they'll be able to come on the trip though.:thumbsup2
Thanks. I'm hoping so too! There's still some time to make the final decisions. Maybe things will change.

Muppets was over way before you were having kids. It was something we would have watched on TV as children! So why were your parents depriving you of it? :lmao:
Good question! I wonder what else I was deprived of???

Belle: I will wait with you while grumpvet goes on ToT a few times . . . .

Ladies: I had actually pysched myself up to go on Indiana Jones yesterday--(I hate snakes . . . and also wasn't sure if it would be good for my back) but I had heard such great things about the ride. . . .

So, first I got there when they opened at 9 a.m. and the ride was down . . . back at 10 a.m. . . . . still down . . .back at 11 a.m. and it was up! Yay! But had a PS at 11:30 and wasn't sure I would get back in time--so got a fastpass for 12:15-1:15 and went off to lunch . .. . back a 12:10 (fast lunch) so I got in the regular line since it was only 25 minutes estimate. (Thought if I really liked it I would try the Fastpass then)--half way through the line it breaks again---GRRRRRR. I was going home so didn't try again.

Oh well--going with some friends in a couple of weeks so maybe then . . if I still have my nerve . . . . if not . . . then maybe you all can talk me into it . . .
Oh man, that sucks! :headache: I hope you can go on it in a few weeks when you go. It's really good!! Not my fave as it's a bit jerky for me, but I'm glad I've been on it several times.

As for your back, what I do, is lean forward a little. I found that helps me not to get jerked as much, and not hit the back of the seat as much. And I hold on too so that helps stablize me.

But definitely give it a go!! I think you'll be glad you did. :yay:

I was just thinking.....

The next family trip we have planned is March 18-21. Still waiting to see if DH can get those times off but it shouldn't (knock on wood) be a problem.

I was wondering if any of you all will be there over any of those days? If so, maybe we could meet up and say hi if nothing else. :)

Beth: I could probably get over there one evening while you are there--I'm only a few minutes away . . . anyone else?

Wow, I didn't realize how long since I had read on the Dis! Not sure if I went far enough back...
Hugs to those who's travel plans may be changing! I hope everybody still is able to go. Life has a way of throwing wrenches into things...but I hope it all turns our well.
My kids grew up on "street". My 2nd son loved Big Bird, oldest son loved the Count and youngest son loved Elmo. Now my 2nd son thinks Animal is cool because he plays drums and so does Animal...lol. My daughter loved Snuffy. Happily none of them ever liked Barney or Power Rangers...whew!

I think the VIP plans sound great. I love the Alladin show and see it every few months. Depending on the Genie you get and the current affairs of the world...his jokes are current and funny. Its a great production.

We very rarely make it over there for the Electrical Parade anymore, so thats always fun.

I love screamin' and the non moving Sun Wheel, but will not do TOT or Maliboomer. I will happily watch or shop or eat during those activities!

I love just about every ride at DL, but depending on how many other fast rides I've done, I can't do them back to back any more in my old age...LOL The head just can't take it anymore. Space Mnt seems to make me really dizzy since they re-did it and its sooo dark now. Oh well.

Are there any pin traders in the group? I know Chris, Dagny and I like to when we are in WDW.

I'm just starting with the pin trading thing so many you can give me some pointers? I went to the pin trading event Fri. nite and it was VERY intense (ooohhhhh). The people there seemed very serious about the hobby! I'm really afraid about breaching some pin-trading etiquette so maybe you can clue me (us) in on what is proper . . . . . also, how do you know if you don't buy from Disney whether it's a genuine pin or a counterfeit one? I'd like to buy a group off ebay to trade, but am afraid of getting junk.

Where did I miss the part of our ring leader Beth may not be going? Huh??? :confused3 :sad2:

What is the scoop?

This is making me so sad........:sad1:

Since DH and I (and our savings and checking accounts) are still in discussion of whether I can possibly go, you can't count me out! If I go, I'm goin' on the VIP tour. :upsidedow

WHAT?!?!

You too?!?! What the heck is going on????? This is seriously starting to depress me! I need a cocktail!

Capri, I just watched the Incredibles yesterday again with my GSs. Everytime I see it, I think of you. :goodvibes :rotfl:

Oh, and for what it is worth. Of all the restaurants we tried in WDW, Bomas was our least favorite. (I know off topic here.)

That's actually kinda cool that you think of me, although my body isn't nearly as nice, and I'm not as stretchy.

I've heard some people just don't like the spices they use on some of the meats there. I've only ever had breakfast there, which was really good, but other than some type of African pork (which I didn't have), everything else was basic American breakfast food (scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, waffles, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, french toast, cereals, oatmeal, muffins, scones, oatmeal, all kinds of fruit, ect...).

I'm not sure what we'll think of the dinner there. I hope everyone can find something they like.

I'm sure that you will find something you like. It wasn't that we disliked it, it was just our least favorite one. I just read that you are going there 2 times, and thought maybe you could try something else. Then I remembered that you are staying there, so that makes sense. You will always get someone with their opinions like me. :rotfl:

Well, I know we'll have breakfast there for sure cause it was GOOD.:woohoo: But our dinner plans there could change because I'm wanting to try that Italian restaurant at Epcot (in Italy :goodvibes ). Oh wait, I remembered it's called Tutto Italia. It gets really good reviews. Or maybe we'll go to LeCellier (sp?) in Canada. Everyone seems to rave about that place. I'm just not sure yet. (Oh wait, maybe that place in Japan, where they cook the food in front of you. That might be good too.)

We did go to LeCellier's. I think that was our family's favorite place. Even over the California Grill, which we used up 2 vouchers for. :snooty:

Yeah, there are so many places to choose from. It's hard.

I already have an AP so I'm not buying any tickets.

And yes, you can apply the price of your park hopper ticket toward an AP. Also, if you just buy an AP, you can use the first day on a black out day.

I may look into an AP.:)

It's the buy a 3 day parkhopper and get 5 days in the park deal. The only thing is the ticket has to be activated by 24 Apr 08 in order for someone to use all of the days. If the person doesn't activate their ticket by the 24th (of April) then it's worthless. HTH

steph

I was sondering too.

Now that the April schedule is up I was wondering if anyone had wanted to see the Aladdin show? I haven't seen it as of yet and have heard it's a wonderful production.

Steph

I really enjoyed this show. The Genie was so funny!

I pin trade! I bought a lot of 20 pins off ebay and they all seen real. Just check the seller's feedback. My mom and I each got 10. 4 ofthe ones I get I am keeping and the other 6 I will trade. It was a mystery lot so we didn't know what we were going to get. It was fun opening the box and dividing the pins!

That would be cool. :thumbsup2
Don't make any special plans or anything though. I'll know for sure later on if we are going those dates (still waiting on work schedule for DH) and if so, and you can head over then great! :yay:

I just thought is anyone was going to be there around then we could meet up. It is during the week though so that might be hard for some.

Where did I miss the part of our ring leader Beth may not be going? Huh??? :confused3 :sad2:

What is the scoop?

This is making me so sad........:sad1:
Well, couple of things. My roomie January is not sure she can make it. Darn taxes. :headache:
If she can't go then I really don't want to have to pay for a whole room myself.

Also I'm having a few issues of my own. I have two DD's that need trips to the Orthodontist, one needs braces. I have no clue what that's going to cost us. I recently broke one of my teeth so I am still looking for a dentist to see how much that will cost.

My mom is flying out from MI on the 27th and I need some money to spend while she's here.

We just paid $600 to fix our van and it still needs something else worked on.

And finally, we have a week long trip planned in June to SoCal to spend time with DH's family.
In June it's his mom's b-day, his dad's b-day, his brother's b-day, Father's Day and our anniversary!! So it's a busy and expensive month for us.

There's no way we can cancel that trip because we are going there for them and they are already expecting us. So we need to put aside money and time off work, for that.

Sooooo.... lots of stuff going on. I'm still hoping something will work out though so I'm not canceling anything until the last minute. LOL

WHAT?!?!

You too?!?! What the heck is going on????? This is seriously starting to depress me! I need a cocktail!

I know it sucks to lose members of the trip, but we still have many going and it's still going to be fun no matter what. And there can always be others. :thumbsup2

Hope no one minds, but I posted a request for info on another board about Vip Tour options since I knew a couple people there had done them before--here is what was suggested:

Yes--they will do the Lily Belle thing! I really vote for that--I think it would be so special to ride in Walt's special car.

One person didn't recommend the parade seating because if you not in the front row they have several rows and you cannot see from any row except the front row. Hmmm. I think I'd still try it.

Here's a bit more:

"Basically, the guide is similar to a concierge for you. They can make ressies, they will run fastpasses for you (while you are on Soarin, they will go to Screamin and get fastpasses and meet you back at Soarin, that type of thing.)"

They can also arrange for you to be in the pilot's area on the Mark Twain and they can arrange for you to ride in the front cab of the Monorail (or in the poster's preference, the rear cab.)

Just a little more info--if I hear more I will let you know. Also, one poster indicated that if you had kids with you "Mirna" was a great guide--I don't know we may be "big" kids, right?
