I will go with the flow, but being a vegetarian I'm not sure what I'd eat at the BBQ. I think I heard they have a vegie skewer. Has anyone thought about Rancho del Zocalo. It's counter service but has lots of seating.

I'm sure they have an offering for vegetarians. I can call and ask if you want.
As for Rancho, we have it on the schedule already for Thursday lunch. :thumbsup2

First things first, I just called DD and they had openings for tables of 4 every ten minutes between 2:15 & 3:00. Since I had been boasting about it to my friend, Erin, and she is leaving on Sunday, I got a PS for Sat @2:50 for 6 people - thinking that others may want to come. I know how hard CC was though, so not sure if you want to try this type of multi-table thing again... or if the rest of you just want to do the BBQ.

She apologized repeatedly and said she didn't know why it was taking so long. She did say there had been some talk of refurbishment at the restaurant during that time so that might have something to do with it. Guess we'll wait and see. :confused3

That would be cheesey since they are also refurbing the lake around that time too (right?).

This is who I had signed up for CO:

I would need to hear from the majority on what they want, so hopefully most of them will check in soon.

I have no problem with it.

That's good, but we have 41 signed up. That's a lot of tables. I'm not sure it would work out.

OKay, I'm making another executive decision here folks. Don't hate me. :flower3:

I think we need to skip the BBQ. I don't see much interest being there and it will eat up a lot of time. If I'm mistaken someone else can take the lead and book that.

We have a group meal already on Saturday which is Jazz Kitchen party of 28.
We have the hunt which is keeping us busy all morning.
And we are trying to fit in Billy Hill in the evening before JK.

I think lunch needs to be on our own that day. Either make your own reservations for CO, do a counter service (which is probably where I'll be, over at French Market), or grab a corn dog.

I hope that is okay with everyone.

Can you give everyone a day or two to give their answer? I found out they do have veggie items and the beans are veggie too. So I vote Yes.

If someone who has not yet booked a meal is interested in doing this, feel free to go ahead and do that. It's getting a bit complicated with people wanting to do different things.

Beth I have decided that I am going to buy one of those wrist leashes to attach to your wrist so that I will know where I'm supposed to be everyday. You can just tell people that I'm a big kid. :lmao:

That sounds great to me. You'll probably find me at Whitewater Snacks or getting a bowl of Veggie Gumbo in NOS.

I called back and cancelled my PS. Since we are eating at JK that night, I think I will just opt for CS or cart meal.

It's diappointing that DL doesn't have a better way to handle large groups in general. This isn't the first time that I've heard this about DL either (my family & I have run into this ourselves just trying to book meals for when they all visit - there's usually anywhere from 10 - 17 of on any given trip).

I know you said your friend is leaving sunday, but are you leaving too? If not you could have an early dinner with me at CO on Sunday at 4:30. Just sayin'.:thumbsup2

Sarah

Beth, I think your decision is fine. I'm hoping to still be dining with some of my friends at Club 33 that day for lunch anyway. I was just giving my opinion in case that didn't work out. (I won't be able to book a table until next week due to my contact being out of town.) I tried to call you but the call number I have is not working anymore. I hope we didn't stress you out too much. I understand how hard it is to take everyone's opinions into account. :goodvibes

Ok, let me make sure I have this right. We are on our own for lunch after the scavvy hunt on saturday. There are 2 Cafe Olreans reservations on Sunday...one for 12:50 with Beth which has one? spot left and one for 4:30 with me which has 5 spots left. Plus we are down to 7 people for the House of Blues Gospel Brunch...is this correct?

Thanks,
Sarah

It is a bummer, but I cannot say I'm surprised. From the first morning I called, they were hesitant about it saying how they were trying to get away from large parties due to being burned in the past. I still think DL handles large groupings poorly. WDW does a much better job with that. But oh well, it is what it is.

I don't think doing another CC type reservation will work. We had a hard enough time booking CC. It took like 9 of us, ALL calling at exactly 60 days out, and even then we are still spread out over the span of an hour, kwim?

I have never been to the BBQ. I'd do it, but some people said they didn't like it, so I wasn't sure what to think. :confused3 Plus we are taking a chance with the weather. But the price isn't bad. $19.99.
And he did say they should have no problem booking us all there, seating us together or close together at tables of 8.

I don't know. We need some opinions here ladies......

My mom and I are going to do the BBQ on Saturday for lunch. We have never eaten there and would like to try it. If anyone else would like to also I would be willing to take charge and make the reservation. Do we know what time the scavenger hunt is going to be finished? I was still thinking 2:30 for lunch.

I need to talk to my Mom and see what she wants to do with lunch that day. I'll get back to y'alls!

Count Bree & I in for the BBQ, Sarah. I have been wanting to try it, too. And $20 is not bad for all you can eat. Thanks!:)

Sarah: I will do the BBQ too--I was there before they took away the characters and the food was pretty good.
