Girls Only Trip ~ OLD Thread, see link in first post for new one

Sorry Sarah, I misread and thought you were talking about Saturday. Hmm... I'm torn between Cafe Orleans with you and taking that extra spot at Napa Rose on Sunday evening.

Can I ask the ladies a question about Napa Rose? Would it be bad manners to only order something small like a soup or salad at Napa instead of doing the whole appetizer, entree, dessert thing? I would love just something small and a glass of Magicale (never tried it), and then dessert, but I don't want that to be considered rude or inappropriate for that type of restaurant.

Can anyone help me?

Where do you get them at? I mean, just any bar? I am clueless on all things alcohol related. lol










On a totally different note, I just saw the thread on the latest AP price increase. Wow. I guess I should consider myself truly blessed that we had APs from 10/07 to 10/08, the first year we moved here.
I had a premium, and Ruben and the kids all had the deluxe. There is no way on God's green earth that we could afford one premium AP and FIVE deluxe APs now. PLUS all the other travel expenses such as food, gas and hotel.

Sorta makes me sad to think we might not be going back as a family well...........for a long time. I can't even think when.

My current AP will expire shortly after this trip and I won't be renewing it. I probably won't be back in DL until sometime after 2012. I guess I'd better really enjoy this trip!!

Okay. I was feeling too booked for the day. Between the hunt, the Billy show, and the group dinner at Jazz, honestly, I'm ready to grab a meal at one of the counter services spots and get in some park time. kwim?

You do have a big family group. DL should really work on this.

I remember after the last scavenger hunt there was a lot of breaking up of groups to go eat & ride rides. I think the break from SH to JK will be nice & long & give plenty of times to ride.

I'm lucky to have a family that Disney almost as much (and sometimes more) than I do. My parents, DB, DB partner, DS, DBIL, nephews and DH all love it. We've slowly started to convert my DMIL & DFIL (though I'm not sure I love the idea of that).

I'm not a drinker so much, so would keep the kahlua out of it, but the rest sounds yummy!

I just spent over an hour on the phone with my bank and Wells Fargo. We have a loan with them, and they hadn't cashed the last two checks. They told me last month that they were behind not to worry, but when I noticed that the check from the 24th had not been cashed either, I started to worry.

Well, it looks like I just made $400, and I'm not sure what to do about it. Wells Fargo insists that they cashed them and we are good until Feb, and the bank insists that it's all good also. However, I don't see the checks coming out of my account on my electronic statements. Maybe I'm missing something, but they both insist it's paid. I'm just worried that I'll use that money somewhere else, and then the bank will come back at me and say 'oops! we screwed up and are now helping ourselves to your money.'

I think I'll wait a little longer before spending it.

That is scary. I hate it when I can't reconcile each month. Even if I just wrote the check, I want it to immediately clear so I have a record.

That wouldn't be a problem, but you may end up sitting there for a while. It is a course meal, so they do all the salads/soups, then the entrees, then desserts. Though I imagine you could ask for your salad as your entree. It's not a big deal either way though. They are very nice there and accomidating.

I've never had one of those. But I have been to a couple restaurants where they sell their desserts in shot glasses. They're awesome because you get a little sweet without having to commit to a layer cake or anything. (Plus they've been ~ $2 each or less as you buy more for the table which is always nice on the wallet too.)

I have dined at NR many times and you can order as much or as little as you wish. In fact, at Dawn's birthday party, we had seven in our group and I know one person just had a bowl of soup, a glass of Magical and dessert. It might be weird if you only had dessert, but they have a good appetizer list and that with a beverage is fine. Just be aware the portions are small, but often rich and flavorful. I hope you decide to join us.

I'm sure there will be a trip, I just won't be on it.
I turn 40 in October of 2011 and my husband Ruben turns 40 in January of 2011, so we are combining our birthdays and celebrating with a cruise (hopefully or something equally grand) in June of 2011.

So no DL trips for me. I have to save my pennies. Probably 2012 or even 2013 before I make it back.

Just wait until after you meet me in person, then you'll be glad I'm staying home.

I see Capri posted our SH team name . Heather's made $400 (maybe). Beth is going to abandon us in 2011 (I don't blame you LOL). And dining for lunch on Saturday is whatever .

I think I'll also just do counter service on Saturday. French Market sounds good. My kids never want to eat there so I haven't been there since they changed the menu (do you mind if I tag along Beth ).
