AmySue - you crack me up!
One last comment for now....Booze makes pretty much any unpleasant event tolerable. And most pleasant occasions even better. That's my motto!

It is the social lubricant. (I am talking about booze) Unfortunately I am now a super light weight, so have to be careful to not get a hang over, so it's drink a beer, have some water, drink a beer, smile and nod, drink some water, drink a beer, laugh at some lame a** family joke and drink a beer.

I think I have it figured out!!

Where is everyone tonight, here I am feeling so chatty!! :confused3:)

Stacie, that is one cool gift! :thumbsup2

Hi ladies! I hope everyone is having a fantastic week so far! I used my submarine instead of a tree this year with the roommates and wanted to show you how cute it looks!

Also, I uploaded a few pictures from our trip to Disneyland that I thought were good...

Us waiting for the Holiday Parade (amazing, might I add!)

The family telling Santa what we want for Christmas at the Paradise Pier Hotel...

Mom, Dad, and me on Big Thunder Mountain (the wildest ride in the wildernes!)

And this last one is a tad blurry but I LOVED the tree at The Grand!

I hope you all have a very magical holiday and I can't wait to see you all in February! :santa:

Awwwww, all the pictures are so cute! :cutie::cutie::cutie:

BTW, I like both cats and dogs. I just trained our dog Sassy to do a new trick. When she was a puppy I trained her to sit, stay, shake, and I could put a treat on top of her paw and she wouldn't try to eat it until I told her it was okay. Well, the other day, I trained her to do the same thing, except now I can put the treat on her nose, and she'll just sit there with it on her nose until I tell her to get the treat. It's so funny! She's very smart. However, when she was a young puppy, she was the biggest pain in the hiney - she used to be sooooooo HYPER! But now she's the most awesome dog and very fun to be around. I'm really enjoying her.

Before Sassy, we had a cat. A great big 40 pound cat. His name was Freddy, and we LOVED him! People used to come to our home just to see him. And no, we didn't feed him a bunch of food. He only got one small kitty dish of diet cat food per day. That's it. The vet used to make us feel so bad, like we did this to him by over feeding him or something, and we were like, "We swear, we don't over feed him. We feed him so little as it is that the poor guy is starving all the time." We never found out why he got so big, but he lived to be 11 years old and then he got an infection in a bad tooth and it did him in. We were so sad. :sad1:

Why am I telling you all about our pets? I need a glass of wine.

Pie making all afternoon tomorrow!

Just wanted to stop by & thank everyone for the Christmas Cards.....it's funny how such a little thing can cheer you up!!!

Also wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!!! We're as ready as we're going to be this year....thank God for Angels who look over us & make sure everyone will have a wonderful Christmas morning!!!!

Hugs & love to all!!!

Hi I hope you guys have a good Christmas!

AmySue - you crack me up!
I hope no one was offended by my comments either. I mean some dogs are very sweet and cute, I am just a cat person. And I know a lot of people don't like cats, but it's ok.:) My little Spikey is already spoiled and loved to death.:lovestruc The pic of Jingles is sad - she is not groovin' on that diaper! But I understand not wanting "the mess" in your house. As far as smokers, both my parents still smoke (IN THEIR OWN HOUSE!:scared1:) and DH just quit 2 years ago, so I am tolerant, but boy it sure does stink.

YES! It does STINK!! eww...

One last comment for now....Booze makes pretty much any unpleasant event tolerable. And most pleasant occasions even better. That's my motto!

:rotfl2: I agree with this!!

Hola ladies!!

Hi! Did you get the presents all wrapped? Shopping all done?

It is the social lubricant. (I am talking about booze) Unfortunately I am now a super light weight, so have to be careful to not get a hang over, so it's drink a beer, have some water, drink a beer, smile and nod, drink some water, drink a beer, laugh at some lame a** family joke and drink a beer.

Hey that is what I do.
Have a bottle of wine, I mean glass of wine ;) , water, chat, glass of wine, glass of water, listen to his sister talk about her new guy of the week, smile while thinking WTH??, have more wine, listen to boring a** talk about farming, the price of fertilizer or what not, open another bottle of wine, all while counting down the hours until I get to leave. Have I mentioned I do this just on a visit there for a few hours??;) :rotfl2:

Stacie, that is one cool gift! :thumbsup2

My cousin has a mastif, Zeus, he is a good dog, except he is the boogeriest dog ever & the size of a calf! He just makes me itch & have itchy watery eyes. But he is a good dog.

How cute a new trick!

See well behaved animals are good. Their pets, not so much.

When Jordan was a baby we got this cat, Curly, she was fat & round! I loved her. She didn't really do anything. She was the chubbiest cat in the litter.
She was the funniest cat. When I wouldl turn the TV on to watch Day's she would look at my like, Really? You are watching that again?? :rotfl2:

Have fun baking pies.
Wine sounds fabulous!

Wow! you guys were chatty today!:scared1:
I am so not ready for Christmas! Still need to wrap presents, which I plan to do after finishing this.:)
I had alot of things to say but forgot to multi-quote.:confused3
Anyway, everyone have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!:santa:

Oh, Janelle - what happened with your gifts?

The drinking will start at 4 pm tomorrow and stop when I go to bed Friday night!
:rotfl2:

Amen, Sister! :worship:

Congrats to finally being done with all your work, Tina.
Thanks!

You are cracking me up!

We are watching The Family Stone, eating popcorn, and hanging with our 17 year old cat. He used to be a big fatty, but now he's a slightly senile, skinny, Helen Keller of a cat. But we still love him!

Hi all! I had to skim read everyone's posts, you guys were chatty today! :lmao:

I got DH to work with me to clean up mountains of pine needles that blew in the Big Winds on Monday/Tuesday. The gardener came on Monday of course. Meanwhile, was racing around the house trying to find places to store misc papers and such. Finally got the plastic boxes into the garage.

All this because my dear MIL arrived today from snowy Philly. I adore her, and I do appreciate her because she's the only relative I really have, but she doesn't always get it. She is a Jeopardy zombie - put it on and she just zones out and walks slowly toward the tv, mumbling answers in the form of questions.

Tina, I think that's so cool you have this huge family via Marty.

Love how the hoodie came out, vintage disney!

Stacie, how cool that your co-workers knew you so well to gift you that way. Isn't it nice to be appreciated? You too, Amysue

Bree, we have the same rock fireplace wall! When was your house built? The sub is great. And I loved your family photos.
Linda - soooo true about booze.

Deb - I do love dogs and cats but I had a friend who had to bring her psycho adopted dog over to my house when she came, because if she left him in their humungous house, with one of the biggest backyards ever, he would destroy it. Well, so of course, said dog manages to destroy my yard (pulling up two bushes in mere minutes). It was awful how she brought him everywhere because he couldn't bear to be left alone.

KATE - I cannot believe she did that in a Christmas card. Has she met Laila? Because if she had, she could not say that. She is the most amazing little human spirit ever.

Tomorrow we take MIL to Mary Poppins for her birthday present. I hope she likes it.

No. A dog's heat cycle is nothing like a human period. We sluff our lining since we didn't get pregnant. The dog's heat cylce is the dog's body getting all primed to breed and make babies. The blood is not from the uterus, it is from the va****. It is calle diapedesis, which is basically the high amounts of estrogen cause capillary leakage in the V, which gets diluted out with the extra secretions that are preparing for breeding.

TMI, TMI, TMI. But, Cristabel asked. I would be bumming if I were a dog who is suddenly forced to wear a diaper. Just sayin'...talk about chafing. SOme dogs just don't seem to be themselves during a cycle. It is likely hormonal, just not cramping.

AmySue

thank you for the clarification and we're all ladies here and the majority have had kids, I would think they'd be over that kind of TMI :lmao:

Speaking of pets and holidays, I'm the only one who brings Jingles to every family get together possible. I did the same with Osita. I couldn't leave Jingles at home for hours on end. I don't take her to the grocery store though .

My cousin, Adam has a big goofy dog (some shepherd mix) named Paxton but they don't bring him anywhere nor do they walk or play with him. I feel so sad for that poor dog. My cousin goes and gets that dog without asking his mom (who's terrified of big dogs), leaves him outside and went off to school in SD! Then my aunt gets the my little girl cousins bunnies. They are now stuck in their hutches outside (or the garage?) and THEN she goes and gets them each a kitten from the pound. This isn't a freaking zoo, nor are pets disposable!!!

I find that so irresponsible and it makes me mad :headache:

My dad's sister is a neonatal nurse who lives with her bf and my grandma. She has three dogs: Nissa, Rosie, and Blacky. Nissa is the only sociable one and looks like an ewok. Rosie is one of the smallest chihuahuas I have EVER seen and is always growling at everyone. Blacky is confined to one part of the house because he is SO anti-social and everyone in the family hates him. BUT my aunt cares for them as if they were her children. I applaud her for taking such good care of them even now as she is dealing with cancer

Look at me being all chatting and going off on family drama. :rolleyes1

I'm off to wrap some presents with Anais. Good night!

I am so tired. I popped on with the best of intentions to reply to everyone and instead...... I am replying to no one. I'm to sleepy. I will say great pics of Linda, and her family!

Everyone traveling and visiting family, good luck and be safe. Night!! :cloud9:

No matter how hard my life is now, I will never regret having Laila!! She's the sweetest baby & her personality always cheers me up when I'm down. To me she is a blessing!

I'm so sorry your Grandma said such horrible things, especially in a Christmas card. My two youngest are only 13 months apart and I remember when my DH told his grandma we were expecting again. Her response was "Haven't you heard of condoms!" Of course she adores Keira but it hurt at the time.
Laila is a sweety! The other day I was looking at pictures someone posted on FB from Sally's party and Keira called her Dad over to show him the cute baby she got to meet!
Ok I'm a bad Diva--I JUST mailed my exchange cards and couldn't stand in line to mail the ones to the Canadian Divas. So, everyone you will get your cards late--especially those in Canada! Sorry!

It will be someting to look forward to after all the craziness:)

I also love what Steph said, and truly wish I had said it myself. I am also in agreement with what Kerry said. I moved to CA 12 years ago for my husband leaving a very established and beloved network of friends in Ohio. SInce moving here, I have not made any friends who I really felt I could connect with really. They have been convenient car pool, play date kind of friends. You guys are my link with friendship, and having girl friends again in my life has made me a much happier person. I read often, often don't post, but think of you all as my "friends of the heart".
I agree! I don't have many close girlfriends so it's nice to be part of this group.

Good morning and Happy Christmas Eve!!

Wow you guys said a lot yesterday and I know I will miss someone if I try to respond to everyone but I wanted to respond to a few that stood out.

Katie I am SO sorry about what your grandma said. That is just not right and I feel your pain. My two are 16 months apart and I know when I got pg even with my first I had "comments" because we were pretty broke at the time, had just gotten custody of Lynn and had only been married a few months. THEN when Katy was only 7 months old I found out I was pg AGAIN! I was so scared I didn't tell ANYONE for months. I thought about some SCARY options like abortion and adoption which of course I would NEVER do (no offense to anyone who has been forced to do these things I just mean that I personally would never have resorted to this) but I was so scared and desperate at the time and we were SO poor back then. Obviously I didn't do any of those things and no one can ever make you feel worse or think things worse then you have probably ever thought yourself and then to have them say things is just AWFUL. Great big ((hugs)) and as EVERYONE has said we know the truth and I hope and pray that you do to and just let it go and consider the source. You know that baby is a miracle and a blessing and she had NO right to say anything so cruel! Please try not to let it bother you too much!!!

Bree I LOVE all your pics! You have the sweetest family! I am so glad you were able to enjoy some time with your dad and LOVE the sub!! ;)

To everyone else I hope you all have a WONDERFUL holiday. I know I am missing stuff but there was just way too much said yesterday and I wanted to make a point to address those two but I love you all and I want everyone to have a wonderful Christmas!

I went in to work yesterday and it was stressful as always. A few of the deals we were counting on to pay bills and to pay the office manager didn't come in so I had to just let them go. I felt really bad because we couldn't pay her but she DID get her regular check just not her bonus that she is supposed to get on certain commissions but we simply did NOT have it. I had to get my check though because as sad as it is to say my piddly check is the only money we have coming in right now!

Then mom and I ran around town delivering her client gifts which I told her I was amazed she even did this year because with this economy I know a lot of people have cut back but she feels it is a necessary expense. So we did that and then she hadn't even really STARTED her christmas shopping so we had to run like 5 stores so she could get the girls a few things and something for my dad. I am just SO thankful that I had bought the girls gifts and Katy's birthday gifts before all this happened!!!

I keep reminding myself though as all of you have said the most IMPORTANT thing is we are together!! I keep thinking about Dawn's poor family and I am sure they would gladly give up anything just to have her with them. Plus we have some friends that lost their son, his wife and two small children (and the wife was pg) in a plane crash this past year. I can't even IMAGINE what this christmas must be like for them. We always got these beautiful cards with a picture of their entire family with their three sons and their wives and children but not this year. I am SO sad for them as well and can't even IMAGINE what it must be like to lose an entire family like that! So every time I think things are tough I think of these people and thank god that at least I have my children and again at least for now I still have a roof over my head! That is the important thing and all the other stuff is just materialistic!

And as Steph and some of you said the friendships that we have developed here mean the world to me! I agree I have a few random friends but it is sad to say that I barely talk to them. A few e-mails here and there but most didn't even send a Christmas card. You guys have no idea how just that christmas card exchange really lightened up my days! I still feel really guilty about going in feb with Shane out of work and I HATE taking money from anyone even if it is family but I REALLY need this trip and I SO want to see you all again so I am so grateful that it is able to happen!

I love you all and I hope you all have a WONDERFUL christmas!!!

Good morning! It's Christmas Eve and I'm at WORK. EW!!! I need to finish some shopping up after work, so I hope I can leave early!

Bree - Those pictures are soo cute! You and your momma and dad remind me of me and my parents. 3 peas in pod!

Cristabel - I had my doggie wear a diaper when she got her first heat. She would take it off and eat the inside pad thing. Ew. We got her fixed soon after because our boy dog was going nuts with her and it was driving us insane. So no more diapers! Oh and those boots are adorable!

I didn't get to read back and catch up, so I will do that. You girls were chatty yesterday and I missed it!

Merry Christmas!

christmas3.jpg

I hope you all have as stress free of a day today as possible.

Time for me to start baking.:goodvibes'

steph

Oy! My Mom just called me to tell me that someone stole our wreath off our front door. Jerks!

My goodness.........what alot of "Chatty Cathys." It took me quite awhile to catch up.

I'm going to try and remember what to say.

First of all to Katie. I am so sorry that you received such a downer note from your Grandma. All babies are blessings, no matter what the circumstances. When Dave and I had Becky, we were in the worst possible financial situation you could imagine. The timing wasn't the best, but she was the best thing that happened to us at that time. It was like God sent her to us, cuz he knew we needed a little light in our lives. What could be more perfect than a beautiful baby I ask you.
Laila is a precious gift to you and your family. I mean, just think about your other children, and how much they love her too. :cloud9:
Sometimes older people start saying things they shouldn't. Things they never would have said before. I like what AmySue said. Where's my Voodoo doll? :rotfl: I hope you have a very happy Christmas Katie. You deserve it!

Janelle, What happened? I hope everything turns out OK for you too.

Steph, What a neat thing you are doing for that family. :goodvibes

Bree, I love all of your pictures. You all look so happy and beautiful. Your Dad looks great! And as always, your Mom looks pretty good too. (Hi Linda!)

Trudi, the sweatshirt looks great! :cutie:

Deb, I'm with you on the dog thing. I love dogs, but not enough to take them along. Especially big ones, like ours. Little ones I can understand more. Cats and dogs in our family stay outside. I am allergic to them. Especially cats. When I go to my sisters, after about 3 days, I'm needing an inhaler. I use to be worse, when I was younger. After one day, I would be ready for one, and needing a breathing treatment. Anywhos, I will be thinking of you.

Stacie, cute gift!:cutie:

To the rest of Divas. Have a very Merry and blessed Christmas. You all are very special to me. :grouphug:

Love ya,

Melody:hug:
