Aw Capri, I have been in your shoes, so I know exactly what it feels like to be financially strapped.

You are a very special lady to all of us. :grouphug:

God bless and have a wondrful Christmas.

Love,
Mel:hug:

:hug:I teared up just reading your post, Capri.
Like everyone said, we love you and appreciate your friendship.

I totally forgot to congratulate Miss Stacerita! I am sooooo happy for you! You worked so hard for this and deserve it so much. YEAH!

I love all the GOOD news we've had these last couple of days. :goodvibes

Kelly, are you ready for Survivor? I AM!:yay:

I'm being bad and making pigs in a blanket for dinner. Served with my favorite food in the whole wide world....wait for it...you probably already know...KFC COLESLAW!!!

Katie, please come on Sunday. I was with a group of Divas at the Oct mini-meet at RBT and everyone had breakfast but me - it was a great time!:)

HEY DIVAS, YOU ALL ARE SNEAKY, CRAZY, & TRULY JUST WONDERFUL!

I can't believe you guys! I was completely caught off guard and totally surprised big time!

So Debra and I had a terrific lunch. We were talking and talking, and well, just chatting away for the longest time while having lunch. Then she says in the most sneaky casual manner, "Oh, I have a card for you." I'm like, "Oh thanks Deb. I actually have your card too, in my car. Shoot, I should have grabbed it to give to you before Justin dropped me off." Then I opened the card she gave me, and for a second, I was confused, thinking "What is this?" Then I saw all the Diva names on the card and a cute little gift card envelope, and I'm still just.....befuddled. It was like I was expecting to see this cute little card from Debra, but my brain couldn't catch up with what my eyes were actually seeing. Then it hit me, and well, I just started crying and crying, and I couldn't stop. I kept trying to stop, but the tears just kept coming out. And so I'm telling Debra I'm sorry because now I'm making her cry because I keep crying, and well, it was just a blubbering tear fest in the middle of Red Robin - LOL! :rotfl:

I'm still in shock. Just shear and utter shock over such a huge surprise! I can't get over it and how thoughtful all of you are. I am SO EXCITED.....this is going to make Christmas so happy for our boys, and VERY MEANINGFUL for Justin and I because it is such a special gift from all of you! You have no idea, really, just how special this gift from you really is for us!

I can honestly say, I've never been shown such kindness before.....ever. And saying thank you just doesn't cut it......it just doesn't even come close to describing my gratitude.

And little Debra, your Diva secret agent (LOL), bought me lunch and gave me a ride home to boot. I mean, it was the BEST DAY EVER!!!!
(Sorry our house was kind of trashed Deb......as you know, it's been taken over by the many guys in our house this week. Usually it's MUCH neater and cleaner. And you were very brave to use the boys' bathroom too. :goodvibes)

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU everyone! From the bottom of my heart!

And Justin wants me to give you all big hugs and kisses. (Seriously, he said that.) :rotfl:

Sniff sniff:) I'm not kissin Justin back though! Merry Christmas!

I am glad you such a great day!
Your house wasn't trashed.
I just wish that I could have stayed for dinner!
Tell Justin thanks for the offer!

Yep, Justin called and said give her a hug & a kiss for me!

I am glad I could help.
I grew up with a single mom, who well had other priorites, without my grandma & my aunts , my brother & sister & I wouldn't have had presents for Christmas. Now every year my kids & I donate presents to Toys for Tots. But this year we & a few friends are buying presents for a friends family. Her husband was layed off from Genie and money is super tight. It just makes my heart feel good to give back.
Because you never know when you, yourself will need help.

Linda, I love KFC's cole slaw too. It's sooo good. :cloud9:

Oh and whoever invented the nose spray Afrin, is a friggin' genius. Seriously, my nose was soooo stuffed with boogers (TMI, I know), I sprayed this stuff and it literally went away in 15 seconds. So worth the $5 it cost. I need to go on those commercials. I still can't smell anything, but I can breathe! YAY!

I've been pretty busy today, we leave for DL tomorrow afternoon and I'm trying to get all my Christmas cookies made before we leave! Only 2 more batches to go. When I'm done, I'll post a picture of them. Most of them are cookies my mom used to make and it just doesn't seem like Christmas until I've made them! Oh, and eat them, too!!
I know what you mean. Certain food items are just so deeply associated with certain holidays, like Christmas, that it just wouldn't be the same without them. Can't wait to see the pic!

Hey, how come some of you have white boxes around your bouncing Mickey heads????
Are you on something?? :rolleyes1
I don't see white boxes on any of them. :confused3

So I won't be able to be on the trip as long as I would like.
Well, that's a bummer, but of course that's the way it goes with a new job.

I can't believe you guys! I was completely caught off guard and totally surprised big time!
:goodvibes You are very much loved here my dear. Glad it made you so happy. We all just wanted you to have a wonderful Christmas. :santa:

You just realized we were all crazy NOW :confused3 :rolleyes1

Seriously, Capri, we all love you and want you and your family to have a great Christmas. I was crying when I read your post - so sweet! Deb, that was awesome ninja Diva style!!!

Because you never know when you, yourself will need help.

Too true.....

Deb - I forgot to say good luck with the new job prospect. I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you :thumbsup2

Blech - but good that the Afrin works:thumbsup2 Having a stuffy nose is the worst. I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you everyone for their congrats. I am so excited about this new job, but also totally freaked out. Its what I wanted though, and what I went to school to do. The hours are better, the pay is way better, and its the highest I can go in the department. Only bummer is that I will be new and can't just take off and come and go as I please. So I won't be able to be on the trip as long as I would like.

Stacie - Sorry I also forgot to say congrats on your new job   I'll buy you a drink in Vegas to celebrate!!

Served with my favorite food in the whole wide world....wait for it...you probably already know...KFC COLESLAW!!!
I can make that. I won't eat it as I do not like it, but I have a really good coleslaw recipe that is supposed to be the same one as KFC. I won't cook meat, so no fried chicken here, but I can make all the sides. :rotfl:

Oh and whoever invented the nose spray Afrin, is a friggin' genius.

I'm glad it works for ya. Careful though, I had a doctor tell me once it can be addicting. :confused3 Not sure how, but that's just what I was told.

Capri, that's really awesome. Our group of ladies are some of the most wonderful, thoughtful, loving people I have had the pleasure of calling my friends.

Stacie - Congrats! Sorry I meant to post it earlier but was distracted by, you know, finals! :lmao:

I thought it was all in my head but it's true, my parents want a second dog! :lovestruc My cousin Yanina needs to rehome this little pup and told my grandma who told my dad because he had previously talked to my grandma and Tia Lourdes about getting a companion for Jingles. I love family networking! :woohoo:My Tia Lourdes is one of if not THE biggest dog lover out there. She was also attached to Osita because she looked so much like her old dog, Benji who died a couple of years ago so I know Osita's death must have been hard on her too.
Here's the dog in question.

It looks like a chihuahua and most chihuahuas I know are yappy bratty dogs so we'll see if she gets along with Jingles AND us.

Oh can I throw out a prayer request? My Tia Lourdes has had cancer for awhile now and I just pray for the chemo and all that stuff to work so she can beat this thing! Out of my dad's seven siblings she is one of three that I'm very close to. Thanks!

I'm leaving starbucks now to find parking at school. I'm going to continue studying but also bake a batch of cookies for my secret Santa. My small group decided on doing something "homemade" since we're all broke. Bye!

Hello everyone.

I jut went to the front page to check what I had signed myself up for, and got alll destracted and read the tribute to Dawn again.

Now I am all weepy again. It's a hard concept to get my brain around.

That said...CONGRATULATIONS Stacerita!! I am so happy for you...more money and betters hours are awesome!! On a purely selfish note, bums me out that we won't have you at all events. You know you are hot, and the life of any party.

I hope all of you going to DL have fun!! Really wish I was, but can't with my work schedule and my parents coming. Bummer. This is the first Christmas season in a long time that I haven't been to DL. Okay, so WDW was pretty dressed for Christmas...but DL is home.

Your post was sweet Capri.

I am sure I missed some people....but in a rush.

AmySue

Awwwww geeeeez Divas, you all are just the best women I've ever known.....EVER!

I went to my visit my mom and dad this evening. It was the first time I've had an opportunity to see them since they've been home. I brought them some dinner (my brother's yummy smoked chicken and ribs). I told them about what you all did for us so we would have a wonderful Christmas, and it made my mom cry!

Then she said that it may sound old fashioned to say such things (she's 72 years old), but she thinks you're all "Grade-A.....Top drawer.....The cream of the crop!" ::yes::

She is absolutely correct! :grouphug:

HEY DIVAS, YOU ALL ARE SNEAKY, CRAZY, & TRULY JUST WONDERFUL!

And Justin wants me to give you all big hugs and kisses. (Seriously, he said that.) :rotfl:

Never underestimate the "sneakyness!"

Oh and to Justin...thanks! I needed a hug today! :cutie:

The day has been good for me but the cookies are calling my name so I am taking them into work tomorrow for all the officers to eat along with a quart of egg nog...I had my dh hide them in the meantime!

Have a great day ladies...oh and can I just say that I was sneaking on to the boards at work today to see if Capri had posted yet! He He He! So glad it will help make a great christmas for your family...you truly deserve it!

Sarah

Thank you, darlin'! :)

I'm glad it works for ya. Careful though, I had a doctor tell me once it can be addicting. :confused3 Not sure how, but that's just what I was told.

Holy cow, Beth. I just googled it and it is. :scared1: People are hard core addicted to this stuff. I don't get it, it doesn't make you feel drugged or anything. I got the 12 hour one, so once I get stuffed again (probably sometime tomorrow morning) I'll see how bad it is and see if I need to use it. Usually by the second or third day of my cold, my mucus starts to thin out and it's easier to blow my nose.

Thanks for the heads up though! :thumbsup2

Capri, that's really awesome. Our group of ladies are some of the most wonderful, thoughtful, loving people I have had the pleasure of calling my friends.

Ohh Cristabel, she's darling. :lovestruc We have a Chihuahua and she is not yappy at all. She barks, but not overly barky, and only when she hears noises or something. She's not bratty either (she is a drama queen though, but I think that's her and not all Chihuahuas). She's very loving and a big time face licker (which Chis do when they love you!). But she does get snappy when you wake her up when she's in a deep sleep. She'll snap at you in the middle of the night and it's kind of scary. But I hope you get her, she looks like a great sister to Jingles!

A prayer is going out right now for your Tia.

Geez...I should have made Kaeleb walk home & stayed for dinner!!!
J/K I wouldn't have made him walk home. But chicken & ribs yummo!!

That was so nice of your mom to say that!

Never underestimate the "sneakyness!"

I will take the cookies...but you can keep the eggnog!

:wave2: Good evening Ladies!
Trying to catch up on the thread before Survivor starts. :)

I finally got my Christmas cards done today. So be watching for them!:thumbsup2

Capri - you deserve a great Christmas! :santa: You work so hard. That is awesome what some of the Ladies did for you! Somehow that got by me or I would have contributed as well.:thumbsup2

:.KFC COLESLAW!!!
KFC Coleslaw is the BEST!!!!

I Because you never know when you, yourself will need help.
Deb you are amazing--raising two kids, going to school and helping others. Awesome!!!

I can make that. I won't eat it as I do not like it, but I have a really good coleslaw recipe that is supposed to be the same one as KFC.

I'm glad it works for ya. Careful though, I had a doctor tell me once it can be addicting. :confused3 Not sure how, but that's just what I was told.

MUST. HAVE. RECIPE. (Or do I really want to know how much sugar is in it?)

On Afrin--Courtney I don't think you will get a addicted using it for a few days. One side effect from long-term use is that it boomerangs and the congestion actually gets worse (happened to my Mom).

She looks like a cutie to me! Sometimes God/the Universe brings the right companion into our life when we're not expecting it.

And Ms. Capri--nyah nyah nyah nyah. You got punk'd (in a good way) by the Divas!!!!!!!And you totally deserve it--another one in school and raising kids and doing a totally awesome job!!

Stacierita, big congrats!!! :cheer2:
Also to Sarah!
Deb, good thoughts for the great interview to snag that job.

Good morning ladies!! :sunny:
He got the license plate number and is going to the police station today to file a report and see what can be done as it was a hit and run. We'll see.

:)

Good!!!

Not yet but a friend suggested One for The Money and the others that follow so I got One and Two. And two Dean Koonst books so I should be good.:thumbsup2

I'm trying to remember if the ship has a library. Well I mean I know that it does but I don't know if you can check out books or what types they had.
!
Most ships have some books that are to be read only on the ship (usually books on the area you are going, or fish, wildlife) and then lots of freebies from other travelers. Love Koonst.

Okay - oops, apparently I said a bad thing and was edited - my bad!! Sorry 'bout that :rolleyes1

Well worth it!!! :lmao: Glad you are feeling better.

Bleh, I guess. I washed my hands over there and hand sanitized a lot. Who knows what happened. :confused3
).

It is so easy to run yourself ragged at the parks, you know?

Cheryl has a team, too.;)

I am really hoping it doesn't rain.

I hope all your pipes are free and clean running real soon, Donna!:thumbsup2
(That didn't really make sense, but you know what I mean)

:rotfl2: Thank you, Linda! He cut some of the roots that were down there but said we really need some kind of power wash through it...? We opted to let that go. I was soo relieved it was not the main line.

Capri

Hope everyone is having fun!

Very quick post...way too much going on over the next few days...

CONGRATS Stacie on your new job! I know you'll do great! :thumbsup2 Sad to hear you won't be able to spend the entire trip with us but completely understand too!

I hope you all are having a nice evening. My squadron Christmas party is tomorrow so I've been baking most of the evening. My Christmas cards will be going out in the mail tomorrow too!

Take care, talk to you all soon.

Steph

Hahahah, I totally got punk'd!!! I just can't believe the whole thing was planned, and Debra just casually posting on the thread, "Hey Capri, I'm gonna be in town. You want to meet for lunch?" I mean.....it was the PERFECT plan! :rotfl:

I've never been on the receiving end of plans like this. Usually I'm IN on the plan....but this time.....COMPLETELY caught off guard! :worship:

And Deb is AMAZING!

Deb, good thoughts for the great interview to snag that job.

Thanks. I just finished my resume! I was completely dumbfounded when they called yesterday. I applied for the job over a year ago. I am suprised they kepy my app on file.
